Sure, Vatican City is tiny—110 acres—but it houses the world's largest Catholic church (St. Peter's Basilica) and has perhaps the best collection of artistic masterpieces in the world (the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo's Pieta, the Laocoon Group, etc.). And maybe only 800 people live here, but one of them's the Pope. It's a pretty good argument for quality over quantity.

This restaurant is the best I have been to in a very long time. I had the steak cooked to 67 degrees, and it was tender and served exquisitely. Service by Giorgio and preparation by Enrico were excellent. We were advised to have a specific wine which was the perfect accompaniment to our meals. We were given some tidbits to taste which were a pleasant surprise. You canât miss by eating here!

Very near to the Vatican Walls, inside the Daedalus of the beautiful Borgo Pio Neighborhood, you'll find Makasar. You can eat good food hearing nice playlist of ambient/lounge music drinking beers, wines or rare spirits. Owners are friendly and if you spend time during the day, this place can be a very good stay even for working. Maybe it's a little bit difficult to find but the search will be rewarded.
The food was good and the salad was excellent. However, this was negated by waitstaff's attitude. The restaurant was empty and they acted like they were doing us a favor to wait on our table. It took 35 minutes for the main course to be served which is noted because we didn't get appetizers. The tap water comes in their own special Mi Va bottles which are reused. The water did not taste fresh like Rome tap water should. Huge question as to how they clean and sterilize the bottles.

Reviews are justified. Lovely spot - indoor dining, which given the humidity, was ideal. Staff and service friendly and attentive; food fresh and of a high standard (cacio e pepe particularly good); wine choice strong and overall good value. Would recommend.
