This restaurant is located near the One Hotel, but more importantly it has wonderful food at hard to believe prices. We did not have the buffet, although its price nearly had us. Instead we had the traditional dish of Tlayudas that was so filling we didn't need to have dinner. Tony our waiter speaks excellent English and explains each dish for you. They also provided a pitcher of a homemade drink and dessert at no cost! Overall a great place to have lunch!

La Cosecha Market was a small, cute and friendly local organic market along Oaxaca's Calle Macedonio Alcala, just north of the Santo Domingo de Guzman Cathedral. I stumbled upon this charming market by accident while exploring the city and it was such a fantastic find. Located in a peaceful courtyard through the door of a green colonial building, the market featured stalls selling organic produce, fresh juices and smoothies, healthy meals and snacks, handicrafts and natural locally made health products and food. There were wooden tables in the centre of the courtyard for seating, with the vendors around the perimeter. I loved the various plants around the edge of the market as well and the peaceful and laid-back atmosphere.I stopped here a few times to grab delicious fresh juices. They are open 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Visited in November 2017.Thanks Brittany

This tiny restaurant located near "Parque el Llano" offers a break from Mexican cuisine. After trying different delicacies offered in Oaxaca, we decided to eat something different. We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor and the reviews given were quite convincing. I agree with many of them, "Musaka" dish is awesome and the mint tea is quite perfect after a long walking day. You'll sleep like a baby! Prices are reasonable and service is great.

Delicious oxaqueña cuisine from the region of the isthmus of Tehuantec and the coast. Breakfast, lunch and dinner service, mezcal beer wines and spirits enjoy the great culinary experience that we offer
We wandered in to a small courtyard and weren't sure it was actually a restaurant. We were blown away at how good the food was! I had chicken with banana (which was amazing) & empanadas. The waiters were attentive and friendly and the prices were cheap. Much better than others we've been to and paid hundreds of pesos more for!

Deindustrialized kitchen. Plant based mexican food with exclusively local and organic ingredients. We cook without any processed products, added sugar or vegetable oils. Vegan and healing food. Micro Bakery and Bookstore.
Focus on pre-columbian regional cuisine, using ancient ingredients, recipes. Beautiful presentation and location. Vegan/vegetarian. Six traditional moles available ( black, red, yellow etc) and the corn flavor in the tortillas is phenomenal. Canât wait to come back.
Café Boca del Monte is a relaxed space to enjoy eating, drinking and sharing. We use local and fresh ingredients. A cuisine oriented to flavor, simple and enjoyable, prepared to please.
The club sandwich was very well prepared it comes with potatoes that are tasty! The chocolate water based is a good choice, the best part is the personnel we had the fortune to be kindly guided by a woman that suggested us to make a tour for our stay that includes the most amazing artisans of Oaxaca, alebrijes, textiles and other beauty stuff she gave as all the details outstanding there is the service of the woman that give

Artisan pizzas stone oven made, with the freshest ingredients. We have options for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs.
I had found La Matatena through a google search for gluten free oaxaca. We stumbled upon it as we were exploring the city in a cute alcove of a building. It was exciting to see gluten free written clearly on their sign as I have coeliac disease. Their gluten free pizza bases are made of quinoa and rice flour and they also have gluten free pasta and beer options as well as vegan options. I ordered a half and half gf pizza of goat cheese and tamarind sauce on one side and ham and red pepper on the other. Cross contamination consideration was amazing as mine came out on a slip of baking paper whereas my partners just came out normally. For a coeliac, this is wonderful to see. The pizza was incredibly tasty and the staff were attentive and so kind. I really recommend coming here for those seeking a safe tasty gluten free meal.
