My hubby and I were on a business trip in Bloomington. Since we only really eat one large meal a day, usually in the middle of the day, we thought we'd try Flat Top Grill. The veggies were fresh and appealing to the eye. The gal who seated us was very friendly, helpful and personable. We went through the line, where we could begin with rice (white or brown) 2 different types of Asian noodles (I chose none--trying to low-carb it). There were many fresh veggies from which to choose AND pineapple. We had written our names on a stick (at our table) which told which protein we each wanted. We got to choose our own sauce(s) at the end of the counter. Then we could add bread or egg to the mix. I added egg, no bread for me. My hubby got the flat bread, which he said was delicious. We could stand and watch while our dishes were cooked and finished or just go back to our table. We went back to our table and within a couple of minutes our stir fries arrived, steaming hot and delicious! We said "no" to dessert there BECAUSE we had noticed a Cold Stone Creamery adjacent to the building when we arrived. : ) !

We fuel healthy, active lifestyles and make all of our meals from scratch every single day.
You know how it's said that first impressions make lasting impressions? Well, it can be true for businesses as well as people. In this case, CoreLife is a great restaurant with a LOT of choices. It's geared toward the "health conscious" but there's nothing wrong with that. There are meat options if you want, an assortment of drinks to pick from, and the setting is fairly bright and cheery. I found a combination that I really love (they give you a host of selections from which to chose) and knowing me, probably won't stray too far from it.So what's the issue? Why not 5 stars? The smell. The pungent, sewer-like smell when you first come in the door. There's a little alcove (closed off, thank GOODNESS, from the rest of the restaurant) that holds a sickening, foul odor within its glass walls. It does NOT go into the seating area, but I've been there 3 separate times and at each visit, I was greeted with that overwhelming, lurid stench.I don't know what it is. I don't know where is comes from. But it's impossible to ignore and doesn't give first time visitors a good initial impression.CoreLIfe? If you can fix THAT, you'll have earned that extra star.Recommend, but hold your breath when walking in and out.
Seoul Mama is the first all-Korean restaurant in Bloomington-Normal in over 30 years! We specialize in homestyle Korean food. Since leaving Seoul in 1998, Chef Yongae Lee has been perfecting her Korean dishes so her children could enjoy food from back hom
Nothing on the outside of Seoul Mama offered a clue to the rich experience we found waiting for us during our noon meal on a recent Saturday. While my wife didn't venture far from familiar beef fried rice, I ventured into the unknown with the Dolsot Bibimbap (pork as my protein). I highly recommend this dish with a word of caution... Don't touch the bowl! It is screaming hot. Twenty minutes into my meal it was still sizzling. This heated bowl is an essential part of this dish as it continues to cook the elements of the dish. The base of rice developes a carmelized crust adding a wonderful texture. Stir after a few minutes and the freshly turned ingredients begin to form more brown crust in the still sizzling bowl. The red pepper sauce served on the side is not as hot as it looks and is addictive. It'll clear your sinuses in a nice way. This was our first but definitely not our last visit.
