Norderney is a beautiful and quiet island in Nord Sea and we have decided to spend a week in complete relax. We are italian people and we would have never thought to find an italian restaurant in the island. We believed impossible to find good restaurants outside Italy, and obviously impossible to find good ITALIAN restaurants! But, what a surprise! AL DENTE is a mervellous little piece of Italy in Norderney! Tasty food, fish or meat, masterly cooked by the chef LELLO, who brings all the flavours of VERY ITALIANI DISHES on your table. And what to say about wines: unforgettable sardinian wines, red or white, from a famous cave of Alghero. We heartly advice you to choose AL DENTE restaurant!

We arrived at around 9 PM on a weeknight. We did not have a reservation and were greeted enthusiastically nonetheless. We had their 3- and 4- course prix fixe dinners, which were memorable. They gave us a 49Euro bottle of wine in error, having told us that it was the same price as the 29 Euro bottle that we had asked for (they were out of that one). The chef came to the table to make sure that our food was just the way we wanted it. The waiter was Italian and very sweet and competent. All that for under 130 Euros (they honored the price of the wine that they quoted us).

Fangen wir mit dem Lob an; der Bedienung war aufmerksam, freundlich - wirklich gut. Wir waren mit mehreren Leuten und ich bewerte nur mein Essen. Ich hatte die Kartoffelpizza. Wer hier Hefeteig mit einem Anteil gestampfter Kartoffeln im Teig erwartet wird das erste Mal enttäuscht. Es war mehr ein dünner, zäher Pfannekuchen, der mit frischem Gemüse ohne jeden Pfiff belegt und mit Käse überbacken war. Klare 0 Sterne für das Gericht. Meine Freunde waren mit den Schnitzeln, den Salaten und dem Fisch deutlich zufriedener. Und für meinen Geschmack geht das Bier auch nicht. Genug gemeckert...
