My daughter and I enjoy a good Blueberry Pancake, so we made it a point to taste-test them at different restaurants on Nantucket this week. Hands down, the winner was Island Kitchen. I know it can depend on who is cooking on any given day, but this particular pancake was perfection! It was medium-thin, crisp on top, loaded with buttery flavor and plump delicious fresh blueberries, and covered with a light dusting of powdered sugar. On the first bite, my friend and I both uttered, "Perfection!" In fact, everything we ordered that morning was outstanding. I so appreciated fresh squeezed Orange Juice! Summing up the restaurants we enjoyed that week, we all decided that the best meal we had on island was that outstanding pancake breakfast at Island Kitchen!

This is the restaurant in the hotel where we stayed. I had the blueberry pancakes and they were the best pancakes I have ever had. Ate there again and had the biscuits and gravy (being from the south, I was very skeptical) but they were melt in your mouth good.

Last minute day trip to Nantucket, last minute reservation at Club Car as most other places already full on busy Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Delightful staff and server. Food was surprisingly different for Nantucket - a lot of Spanish influence. Lovely! We just spent 3 weeks in Spain in May so were happy to see pinxtos/tapas on the menu that harked back to our time in Spain - arancini/croquettes, baked dates, spanish tortilla (omelet), lamb skewers, jason iberico toast, basque style cod - YUM! Loved them all! Grilled oysters as well as Nantucket favorites but thrilled at the Spanish styled menu.Servers were knowledgeable and friendly, the space was bright and airy; not what you would expect from a "Club Car" type atmosphere, although if you want that the bar is all about that.
