On a recent trip from Canada last week, we were visiting with relatives in the area and decided to give this resto a try. We were a party of 6. Seriously folks, this place is a win/win. It's obvious these people love what they do! Each dish was prepared with love & expertise. All of their ingredients are not only market-fresh but equally of the highest standard. In general we are very picky eaters when it comes to quality and service. This place wins hands down as one of the best restaurants we've ever experienced. Totally worth the detour if you're visiting the South of France.Dear jaquie t,How can I forget you all and you especially..beautiful blond lady... :-) You made our night, you were absolutely delightful, even the clients sited at the table next to you Carole & Beverly, if I well remember, while sharing stories.Thank you so very much for your beautiful review...even though I am wondering what could be the next step...a 3 star Michelin ?!? No seriously we are so so far from this and it is not our goal ! This a cafe style restaurant, but don' t be fooled, the food is very nice, and you can tell that they use fresh ingredients. If you fancy a casual meal this is the place. However be aware that the food is mostly meat, so not ideal for vegetarians. Although I understood that as they use only fresh ingredients, the menu can vary and sometimes there may be more choice of vegetarian dishes.

Excellent authentic food, super fresh, nice service and very affordable prices. We are too used in Cote D'Azure to pay high prices for mediocre food. And if it is Japanese, even more so. Sasano is certainly one great exception out of this rule. The sushi/sashimi are excellent and always super fresh and the restaurant offers big variety of menus that include miso soup, salad and a choice of sushi/sashimi selection, as well as japanese ravioli goyza (which are simply divine) or "brochettes" - meat skewers of duck, chicken, beef with cheese, etc. This small, quiet, family-run restaurant at the seaside of Menton is certainly one of the best addresses there are in the region. Ah, and last, but not the least - they are children friendly. Another rarity around here!
