Things to do in El Calafate
The place looked simple, comfortable and not very inexpensive. My wife and I ordered pumpkin soup. I also chose a hamburger - there wasn't much for my wife who is a vegetarian. The place was empty except for another couple but it took nearly half an hour for the soup which was like flavoured water. I waited another ten minutes for the burger then tried to be subtle by taking our empty dishes up to the counter. There sat my burger getting cold. I took the burger to the table and opened it up to find that it was totally burnt on one side. I took it back and the cashier seemed embarrassed. She brought me another one. The quality of the meat was still poor. Instead of ham and cheese I had asked if they could just give me cheese with lettuce and tomato. This they did but then charged me for a deluxe burger. When I pointed out that a deluxe burger included ham and an egg which I didn't have they said it didn't matter. 370 pesos later I came home and had some cookies and an apple to feel more satisfied.

Almost entire menu is plant based food, there was 1 chicken wrap on menu. Veggie sandwiches, wraps, pastas, lasagne, shepherds pie, burgers; eat in or take away. They also offer pizza bases, packets of uncooked pasta and jars of sauce, and other cooking ingredients.Indoor and outdoor seating, bathroom, close to bus station. Only place Iâve seen so far that sells almond milk. Very friendly staff, would definitely visit again.

I should know by now that any place near a hostel will be cheap. This place was cheap and good! Pumpkin soup was hearty followed by a homemade veggie burger with fresh guacamole and crispy fries. Malbec was 90 pesos or about $3 USD. Service was good and a few blocks off the main drag. Lunch cost me about $15 with wine and water. Ali muchas gracias por tu opinión!!!!!!!Esteban
