What a lovely place. Open doors onto the pavement and more tables outside. Inside candles on the table. Breakfast of croissant and scones with clotted cream and lemon curd - delicious. Light and perfectly baked. The coffee was also excellent. The smiling waitresses made the whole experience a treat. Thank you very much for your review! This was one of the first places we went on a date after the birth of our son, thanks to a friend's recommendation and a gift card we got from our wedding in July 2017. I instantly fell in love with everything about this restaurant. It's quaint attic space, the small details, the cozy atmosphere were especially wonderful for me as a Canadian. It is rare to find a place like this at home so I truly enjoyed every moment. The staff was super friendly, the food was DELICIOUS and the prices were definitely agreeable. We ordered everything we could possibly think of (several starters, main dishes, the biggest steak and several drinks each) and it cost â¬75. Right in the center of Alkmaar, it made for a great date night. There is no doubt I will go back to this restaurant, hopefully sooner than later.Thanks for all those compliments! Had we not booked an AirBnB in Alkmaar due to its proximity to Amsterdam we would have never stumbled upon this quaint little place with delicious homemade food, desserts, and coffee. And the staff made us feel right at home during our short stay in this gorgeous Dutch city.

We visited with 2 children (7 and 5), who naturally loved digging around in the sand and playing so all the better for the parents to relax, lean back and enjoy their excellent coffee...
