On our way from Madrid we stopped at this place hoping for some good cochinillo (suckling pig roast). A selling point for an asado. First, let's note that prices are relatively high for an unassuming (?) establishment in an uninteresting suburb. However, there's a tasting menu at 30 euro, which seems to be the way to go, and includes the choice attractions of the a la carte menu. In the dining room, a rather formal affair, in a dated sort of way, we are informed that the pig is not available. There is a lamb asado, but there's a 40 min wait. Well ok. Shortly thereafter we are informed that the lamb will actually take another 70 min before ready, so we are discouraged from ordering that. Not much left of interest among the mains. That's two (more expensive) choices gone out of four. We go for the fried conchinillo, since our minds were set on pig. The choice of main is the only actual choice we make. Start off with a double mini-soup. Gazpacho, that w the condiments is perhaps the single dish above average. The salmorejo, while not unpleasant, is subpar compared to the two we've had in recent days. Then a lettuce, tomato and onion salad. Nothing wrong with it. And thus arrives the main. French fries w indiscernible cuts of something akin to pig. Deep fried. Decoration of little green peppers around the plate. It looks... fried. It tastes of slightly rancid oil. Crunchy, yes, everything else, no. I still feel an unease thinking about this dish. At 5 euro in a non-descript ethnic hole in the wall I would've felt that I got what I deserved. But frankly, a decent kebab is more bang for the buck. In a formal dining room this is an insult to a discerning palate. At this point we are perplexed. Could they really charge us 30 euro per person for this? But wait, since they insisted that we order the same thing for the table, maybe the price is for two? That would not make us happy w the meal, but it would make more sense. The bottle of house wine is without serious flaws, but also has nothing going for it. We are offered two shots of an intensely yellow spirit, perhaps to ease our minds. It is reminiscent of a strongly fragrant soap with a good kick of questionable ethanol. And to conclude, a mille-feuille with a custard that is bland and with an odd consistency (frozen?). This cake might've been the thing in the 70s for a french-inspired restaurant, but, come on? Coffee is extra, and we leave feeling utterly disappointed with our meal, and with the money and time we lost. Saludos

On a professional trip we had dinner in this restaurant. We ordered the rice for 2 with lobster (arroz de Bogavante) and we were served one half lobster each, totally rotten and with a strong smell of amonia. The shells of the lobster tail had been emptied (!)When we called the waiter, we noticed that he knew as he took back the dishes very quickly without asking anything. He then admitted that all the seafood of the restaurant if not fresh but frozen and that sometimes some items go bad (but I guess they still try to serve it and don't mind of what may happen).I don't even know how someone can imagine to serve something like this. This dinner could have just been a negative experience to rapidly forget about but I was unlucky to have taken one fork of the rice. I turned out to be very ill that night vomitting, etc ... I have just returned home in France and it is obvious that I have had food poisonning from this dis.? If I would have had more time I would have informed the Spanish sanitary authorities because this can be very dangerous for some fragile people.I have not eaten anything since 24hours and will be at the doctor's tomorrow because I still feel very bad. This restaurant should be closed and it's owners prosecuted !!!
