I took my parents for a combined Motherâs and Fatherâs Day celebration for a Sunday lunch. Two menus or a la carte and plenty of choice. The waitress was knowledgable about the dishes which is always a good sign. In the end, an excellent meal with lots of flavours, local produce and super wines. And the view speaks for itself. Superb experience!

We did make an unplanned stop over at the lovely chateux malle and not being planned, late and rainy we stopped at this place. First impression better than from outside, and the menu ok, price wise not that lowcost as the place might suggest. My wife had a sald, me a 22 euro entrecote( not that far price wise from les noailles in bordeaux center).Meat ok, fries had that taste of the old oil, which has seen many many fries over and over, and maybe also some other stuff. And the ceasar salad led to both wife and her mother having a terrible night without sleep. Should have gone to McDonalds, despite this being France...

We were lucky we arrived just before lunch service started. We both had the "menu" lunch meal for â¬15, this included1. Appetizer buffet (antipasto)2. Steak with salad and fries3. Dessert or cheese4. 1/4L of wine5. CoffeeThat's a bargain anywhere but especially in France! (Just the steak would have been â¬10).The chef and server were very friendly and seemed to genuinely care if we were enjoying our meal. We didn't understand the cuts of meat available (menu only in French) and the chef came out and showed us the uncooked steaks! Since this place is listed as a "brasserie" in the tourist magazine we were expecting a menu of burgers and club sandwiches and we were pleasantly surprised!

This small village bistro is obviously popular within the village, as it was full upon our arrival. So full, in fact, that the single waitress was obviously strained to keep up. When seated down, we waited a very, very long time to even be shown the menu. I was under the impression, the whole time, of being made to feel very much aware that our party were "the outsiders" in the local midst - and service seemed to reflect this.Salmon terrine starter was okay; not quite what I expected though that is potentially my fault, but tasted of an average blend of compacted fish. My duck breast was much too fatty, which slightly spoiled the experience of eating it - far chewier than poultry should have been, and also quite small.
