November 21, 2019 Etsuko Causey

Find out what Grill restaurants to try in Reykjavik. Reykjavik bears the distinction of being the world’s northernmost capital, and for many Icelandic visitors it also serves as a gateway to the rugged adventure options beyond. Recharge after outdoor pursuits in one of the many geothermal springs or luxurious indoor spas. We appreciate Reykjavik’s open-minded and energetic culture that includes a hip and internationally recognized music and arts scene, great food and notoriously "enthusiastic" nightlife.

Ate a great lunch here after getting a recommendation from our Dive.IS guide, Since we had just finished our snorkeling adventure, we arrived hungry and ready to eat and drink. Teddy, our server was kind, hospitable and extremely efficient. She, too had wonderful recommendations for places for us to try in Reykjavik. Teddy was friendly and answered all our questions about Iceland!! Great beer, food and service!

After struggling to find decent veggie food in Reykjavik, I stumbled across BioBorgari when searching via Google. The menu is small but everything is freshly made and the veggie burger was really moist and full of flavour. Get there early as it's quite a little place so you may not get a table as it's popular with the locals and you can't make a reservation. The owner is friendly and responds quickly to online queries. Will definitely pop back if I visit Reykjavik again. Thanks for the feedback, Cat! It was great to have you and that you loved our veggie burger is a plus, since the veggie patties are made from scratch by us!We have a small cosy restaurant but since we serve "fast food", usually the customer flow moves quickly enough for people to seat by the time their food is ready. We also have compostable take-away packaging, which is another popular option for locals as well!Thank you again and we hope to see you in a nearby future on your next visit!Safe travels!

Seeking great food and service? Sumac will not disappoint! Traveling with friends we decided to go for the 7 course tasting menu. Seating near the kitchen and bar area offers a very interactive dinning experience where you can watch the team prepare your meal. The chefs at Sumac are highly skilled professionals with a great understanding on produce and have the ability to cook and prepare the dishes to perfection.I would highly recommend the warm flat breads with hummus, lamb with almonds and crispy potatoes.

I first visited this restaurant in August 2014 and visiting Reykjavik this Year again, we were happy to repeat the fine experience of 5 years ago.Even though the place was packed (it was the night before culture Day) and we had not made a reservation, the friendly staff ensured us we would have a table in 20 minutes. We enjoyed the various delicious steaks which were perfectly prepared. Also: try the mushrooms as a side dish. They were a perfect companion for the steaks. When we go back in 5 years, we will certainly visit the place again.

Situated in the old bus terminus in the heart of Reykjavík, Krost is one of about 6 restaurants which serve diverse gayer such as noodles, pizza, and tacos.Krost is more up-market but not overly expensive.Tables in the food hall are communal and cannot be booked so you need to grab a seat where you can. It was worth it though. We had beautiful baked cod with caramelised cauliflower and crispy potatoes. Would highly recommend for an informal meal.
