Had dinner with our friend there, overlooking the port and Cretan Sea - which already ensures a great setting. We ordered their organic white wine (excellent) and a mix of everything recommended for that day - risotto, Mediterranean salad, sardines, and mussles. The portions were large and really delicious. We have rarely been disappointed on Crete, but this was more than an unexpected pleasant surprise because the dishes were much better than anticipated and surpassed our expectations and hopes by far. The services is very welcoming, fast, and not pushy at all. Highly recommended place, in every aspect: people, cuisine, and setting.

Some slightly more traditional items on the menu than many restaurants in the area. We began with artichokes and tarama which were delicious and then moved onto a lamb cooked in yoghurt, flavoured in herbs and grilled octopus with fava beans. Some locally unfiltered beer accompanied my dish. Complementary dessert and raki were served and I needed to walk it off around the fortezza. Excellent meal and service.

We have been visiting Crete and Rethymnon for 20 years and decided to try a new restaurant this week. We were very disappointed indeed. The spaghetti with clams and mussels was full of mainly empty shells. When we complained to the waiter he told us, "aha, I know what has happened. When we steam and drained the mussels,they went down the sink!" I have never heard anything like this in my life. They offered to bring more mussels, but the spaghetti was going cold and the sauce was like soup,so we declined. Rather than coming to deal with the situation,the manager sat down to talk and laugh with the customers behind first,which made us even more displeased. We didn't eat the food and advised the manager that we would not be paying. To be fair,the manager agreed to delete it from the bill, but he was not at all apologetic. He asked where we were from, then made a sarcastic remark about us being English and wishedus luck finding a better restaurant. We found the quality of food and attitude of the staff and management to be awful. Luckily, over many years we have found lots of fantastic restaurants in Rethymnon and all over Crete, so we will not be visiting this place again,or recommending it to others. No Cretan hospitality here sadly!

We ordered main dishes: fish and lamb and of course the wine.At the beginning we received starters. Starters were interesting /bread with olive, cheese, olives and and paprikaâs cream/ and of course we would like to taste them, but during our tasting the waiter disturbed us, took off our plates and did not let us to finish. He did the same with other guests. I have to write that it was very unprofessional it was was not acceptable!We had got our main dishes before we finished our starters. Just after we finished main dishes we had got some sweets as a present, before we finished our wine. We wanted to drink coffee but no one asked us about that.The food was excellent, but we did not have time for our dinner, we did not have time to smell, to taste and to talk, as in the factory... or in a fast food restaurant.

Food was very good, We have got free starters and drinks (%). Meal was fantastic, appropriate portions and very good taste. Price ok, standard for this place. Restaurant is located in city center, and what is important during hot days - you can sit down in the shade. Very tasty local cusine. I will be back for sure! Thank you!

Nice pleasant location, opposite beach, with bar service for sunbathers. Good selection of snacks, Gyros particularly good with home made potatoe skin chips. We have ate twice over the holiday and not been disappointed. Family run business with helpful and friendly staff.

Visited here for dinner. The restaurant is lovely with a slightly eccentric but very friendly owner who prepares the most amazing Cretan food. I ordered meatballs followed by mousaka and a complimentary chocolate and cream dessert with Raki. My wife chose aubergine pattyâs with stuffed pepper and tomato as main with the same dessert. We had half litre of rose and a large beer and bill came to â¬33 !!! The food and service were amazing and the place is a must visit if your staying anywhere near Plantains, Réthimnon.

Estonian family in Crete.We have had a dinner twice in this place and it has been an amazing experience. Workers here are very helpful and handsome. Theyâre always trying to make the best food possible. It has great prices for foods and portions are big. Highly recommend!
