La Trattoria Marmetta has a lounge with 50 seats only within the local and 'airconditioned. It is located on the waterfront south of Porto San Giorgio and it 'easy to reach from the highway being approximately 600 meters from this. The type of cuisine and
It really does serve great beef, tagliata, filetto, you name it. With some beauitiful aged balsamic vinegar we had it. Good salumi, fantastic traditional pasta dishes (the ravioli was exceptional) followed by beef and washed down with a good selection of wines. We chose a full-bodied Conero red as a change from rosso Piceno. The waitress was lovely, made a big effort to speak English which some of our party really appreciated - this is not a tourist place. It's very traditional, a little old fashioned? The view is nothing to write home about, not far from the marina. Service was warm and well-intended though our order got mixed up with another table so my medium steak turned out to be rare. But still very good. I like this restaurant and the people who run it, but it does have some room for improvement away from the food itself. Thanks for your review!

Just about the closest restaurant to our hotel, and exceeded our expectations. The fish, and prawns were grilled as we made our way through the starter of seafood selection. This is a family-run establishment that prides itself on good, honest food at realistic prices. We had the place to ourselves - it was a chilly January evening - but with the careful attention of the 'lady of the house', we enjoyed a warm welcome and were made to feel very at home.Just a word of warning - the fresh prawns, lobsters etc. can prove quite expensive. I had 5 salted prawns - delicious they were, too - but they cost a whopping 12 euro each!! I had expected my partners generously-sized lemon sole to be significantly more expensive, but it was less than 1/3 the price of my prawns!

Unfortunately we went to La Capannina on a Friday, hoping to talk, not dance. There is live music of indifferent quality but very loud. At the other end of the large, open air establishement, it was hard to hear normal conversation. The restaurant looks out to a saphire sea with the white cliffs of Conero behind, a splendid location with cool breezes (bring a jacket). The seafood antipasti were exceptionally good and well-presented. Pastas were good, tasty and filling. No substitutions or variations are possible on Fridays. As the restaurant emptied, the wait staff melted and response time lenghtened. We had given up on dessert; it was taken off the bill and then suddenly appeared as we were getting ready to leave. The bathroom had no toilet paper. The door first wouldn't close and then got stuck and was hard to unlock. Parking is tricky. I'd go again for the views and antipasti, but not on Friday.
