Compared to common quality on cafës in South African parks and gardens this was bad experience. Our sandwiches (tuna mayo and chicken mayo) were rather tasteless and portions were rather small. Really little tuna and chicken.Waiter had not his best day. Made mistakes also on other tables, as we had time to watch due slow service.Thank-you for bringing this to our attention and enabling us to investigate unacceptable standards. A great pity I did not get to attend to your problem during your visit, but I do hope to have the pleasure of meeting you in the future.

I gave the restaurant a retry. It was quite expensive for a special burger and chips, but the chips were more than I could eat.The service was good and friendly. Quality fine. But maybe I'm critical after two previous failures.I could get equal service and comprable burger for about 50% of the cost, nearer home, so i can't honestly say I was overwhelmed. Can i say i wasn't impressed? No! But with the cost of fuel in SA these days, I won't be a regular patron.Sorry! The choices are wide, the quality good, the service reasonable. But, honestly, for me there is no reason to go back.We are sorry to hear that we did not rock your world, Rogofor. Wonât you please pop us a mail with your deets & a copy of this review --> [email protected] so we can get in touch with you directly to discuss this further and hopefully turn it around.Cheers, Casey

Group od friends were there for Valentine we were rudely dismissed. Same last night no greeting nothing. She should work in closed office no people contact. Waiters are even apologising for her bad behaviour

I am always a doppio supporter when I go to cradle mall ! In fact I sometimes wish they would have a great Chinese restaurant in that shopping Centre , anyway , we wanted something different and decided to go upstairs , where most shops / take aways have closed down because it really has no atmosphere , however John Dory is in a prime spot with an awesome view ! When you walk inside it has the normal atmosphere of a chain restaurant , however me being a vegetarian and sometimes eating fish , I was surprised to see they have a paella on the menu , and even more so they where able to leave the meat out !however when it arrived it was on a plate not even in a nice pan , and it was cold and the prawns inside , the two little ones , looked three days old , luckily I donât really eat prawns .We asked them to warm it up and it took ages , and when it arrived it was still finger warm . Anyway I ate it ! While my husband had already nearly finished his steak with the calamari on it that he didnât enjoy either , so we wrote it of to a bad day . I never have dessert however I felt like something hot and ordered the doughnuts ! Donât have the doughnuts !! What the heck where those things , first of all no hole in the middle Wich I was expecting ! Lumps of dough nearly a week old heated up in a microwave for sure .. and the taste was indescribable ! The managaress asked if we enjoyed our food and we told her no we didnât , we explained everything and she took down our number , still waiting for a call , it was a total waste of money , even though the food is reasonable , but NO . Also my husband asked if the serve beer on tap and the didnât so he had a Windhoek draft in a jack black glass however they donât serve black jack anymore ! But still use their glasses , weird experience for such an amazing prime spot with a view , I suggest they get a professional in and turn around that place a s a p . There was another manager just standing by the door all night long not doing anything just sayin hi and bye , no interaction at all , waste of salary to me on that one ....Dear hekpoortheksie,Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. We are so sorry to hear that this was your experience. That certainly doesn't sound like the level of service and food quality we pride ourselves on. If you wouldn't mind forwarding this review on, together with your contact details to [email protected]. We'd really like the opportunity to discuss this further with you, and hopefully turn it around. Kind regards,John Dory's

We've had family and busjness meetings at this establishment on many occassions. We frequent this (Silvestar), Goldreef and of course the original branch. Calisto's Muldersdrift has a great vibe, great food and great staff. We will be back. 7.8 out of 10 fo this establishment.

Out of my five visits, I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. Staff are well trained, professional and have a kind nature in their approach. Small expectations not met are handled with grace and care towards the patron. I must compliment Victor our waiter who took great care ensuring our expectations exceeded on a service level. The food is always bang on. A specialist restaurant who does their name proud. Steak is what they pride themselve on. Value based on service and quality is exceptional. The menu is well designed and considers kids in its offering. Well done....

Award-winning micro-brewery, pub and restaurant in sunny Muldersdrift. Home of Gilroy's finest ales and lagers. Featuring a beer garden, live entertainment, cold beer, and delicious freshly prepared food.
Itâs clear to me that volume of patrons here count more than service. What a dissapointment. First time in Johannesburg to a venue that everyone raved about, and it was not worth raving about!I felt sorry for our hosts that took is here and were let down by the staff of this venue. While we were there 2 other tables fought with the manager because of poor service aswell. The concept is great and granted some of the beer is good, but thats it... we never had a chance to order a meal due to the poor service from our waiter. Canât even tell you who he is, he never looked like he had any interest in serving us.Gilroy, best restaurant for how many years in a row??? I THINK NOT!!!! Hi David,We are most distressed to hear of your disastrous visit. We work very hard to make sure that everyone has a good time, and we strictly limit the number of patrons in order to maintain a usually high level of service. In order for us to investigate this incident, please be so kind as to describe where you were sitting, on which day you visited, and if possible, the table number. We will do everything in our power to make this up to you, if given the chance.

Great craft beer. I do recommend the stout. The ginger one a bit too much ginger but try them all and take some home. Generally great crowd and very nice menu. Child friendly with some stalls around to get souvenirs etc. But for me its all about the beer. And the host is one good fella
