We were pretty happy with this place. Nice interior, clean and friendly staff. The food was good. I had a 400g Argentinian filet steak. It had a nice crust and was tender inside. I was not the best steak I ever had but still in the top range. The Margarita was good too!

The ribs and steaks are mediocre, at best - which is not saying much in a red-blooded, meat-eating town like Erfurt. The Jambalayas are bland and sloppy.Too many ingredients that could be fresh are frozen, and out of those too many are not well prepared. On top of that, the dodgy murals, the outdated, racially insensitive statues and portraits are distasteful: it's the sort of place that older Germans seem to enjoy.I wish the staff could find a better employer: they're not too bad.

THE WINE BAR Comfortable ambience with open fire place The original wine bar with its open fireplace focuses on regional specialities - for the small appetite all dishes are available also in Tapas size. The main emphasis is on varying seasonal dishes, be
We had a reception in the courtyard garden and then a dinner in one of the function rooms on the same level. This was an academic farewell celebration, and all worked very well. The environment is spacy and the garden nice, the room was dignified and again offered a lot of space without being too large. The table had just the right size. The food was well-done and well-thought-out; formal German restaurant fare but certainly on a good to very good level - mushroom soup good, venison very good, and desert excellent. The Neipperg red wine I had with all this was excellent as well, and I appreciate it, as it's still not normal, when German restaurants serve decaf espresso.Waiters and waitresses well-schooled, elegant, and unobtrusive, as they should be.Such dinners are more often failures than successes; this was clearly a success, and most certainly the Zumnorde did all that could be demanded. I therefore strongly recommend this place for larger dinners, and I would certainly try them also for an individual one.
