Enschede (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɛnsxəˌdeː] ( listen)), also known as Eanske [ˈɛːnskə] in the local dialect of Twents, is a municipality and a city in the eastern Netherlands in the province of Overijssel and in the Twente region. The municipality of Enschede consisted of the city of Enschede until 1935, when the rural municipality of Lonneker, which surrounded the city, was annexed after the rapid industrial expansion of Enschede which began in the 1860s and involved the building of railways and the digging of the Twentekanaal.

Central Park is our go-to cafe for a cup of coffee and a settle in with a good book or for people watching. The atmosphere is calm, the restaurant well-located on the old square, the menu extensive, and the seating plenty. During winter it is one of the few cafes in town that has a heated outdoor patio, kept warm enough that a coat can be discarded. Prices are very reasonable. Recommended.

We came here for a few times for its good food with reasonable price. I haven't tried the all-you-can-eat package but want to try it someday. You can choose to sit inside or outside, the rank of some food is written near the cashier and the service is fast enough. And while eating you can enjoy seeing the Alpha Toren, it is the highest building in town. cmiiw. They sell many variants of ice cream but I like the caramel one the most.

Call us a lunchroom, restaurant or bar, but we're mostly the gathering place in Enschede. From breakfast till late night you can join us for a cup of coffee or a full dinner. With over 350 seatings there is always a seat that suits you!

Close to the station, we selected this for lunch on arrival (as we could not yet check into hotel). The menu has some interesting choices instead of the staple lunch fare, such as flammkuchen, artisan bread with dips, good salads. Friendly staff, service very slow though.

I was in Enschede for business, so needed somewhere to eat. The town is full of restaurants, though as it is a student town they are often brash and cheap. With a colleague, I wandered round the centre and into back streets, eventually discovering Beiaards Bistro. It seemed like a civilised oasis in the midst of less refined fare, so we went in. The service was charming, the ambience pleasant - warm and not too noisy (we needed to talk), and the food delicious. I had a vegetable curry. We had struck lucky!
