Seafood, sushi , seafood mezze and grills are seved with love and passion in Durban's only restaurant set in a national monument, a double story Natal Edwardian elegant verandah house that is over a 100 years old.
I always saw the name and never thought much about it. To me me it sounded like another seafood establishment. To my surprise I was blown away by the level of professionalism and courtesy of the staff. We were welcomed by a genuine smile and this was evident in all the staff. Well done to the management and staff. Good food, excellent service and well trained staff makes this not just another seafood restaurant, it is THE seafood restaurant to experience as we did. My wife and I definitely be visiting again.
The restaurant is halaal certified. They serve delicious burgers with various toppings at a reasonable price. We also tried the BBQ ribs and Peri ribs. Both were tender and tasty. The restaurant is modern, comfortable and clean. Staff are helpful and friendly.

I have to admit, john Dory's sea food is the best in Durban... Lets just say I prefer it! :). The service and the treatment the waiters give you is absolutely worth a visit almost every day. The view of the Wilson's Wharf boat riding depot and the harbor is amazing, this place is worth a try.Dear Makhoba, Thank you so much for your amazing review! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed our service. We hope to see you back again, soon! Kind regards, John Dory's Crew

We went to dinner last night and the restaurant was not full. After being seated for 5/8 minutes a manager asks if i was helped. No was my reply..She very helpfully took drinks and starter order. Still no sign of our waitress though. Our waitress eventually arrives with drink does not introduce herself or wear a name badge. My partner then joins me and he sits a good few minutes before he attracted the attention of a manager to help take his drink order. He then summons another waitress to help us.In the interim a few waitresses are very merrily having a conversation in the front. My point is restaurant was NOT full to capacity and service was pathetic. No one checked if meal was ok ? Are You guys alright?Need anything else?Scary to think how they would cope during peak seasons.Dear SharonN123, Thank you for rating John Dory's. Customer service is extremely important to us and we apologise for the level of service you received on your visit. Please take a moment to send your contact details to us on [email protected] so that we may address your concerns. Kind regards, John Dory's

Sunkist has always been a favorite when coming down for our Annual Durban holiday, However I was a little skeptical this time around because they had moved from where we were normally used to going. Food is still Great! Service is still wonderful! The atmosphere is a lot better now because the new premises is a lot more spacious then the old one. I was Really impressed at how quickly the food was served, starters were very tasty and just thinking about the meal now is making my mouth water. I enjoyed the fillet steak while my wife had the Mozambican chicken. What a delight!

Havana Grill offers an unforgettable dining experience with the combination of great food, an extensive wine selection, humidor for cigars and an environment that is relaxing, yet remains up-market. With views overlooking the ocean, excellent meals and at
This is in the Suncoast Casino development, a is a very popular mall, packed with people every evening. There are multiple restaurants. We didn't like the complex, but it is popular in Durban because it is safe and secure. This branch of the Havana grill is quite large, and busy. We were well looked after by the waitress, who had a wryly amusing manner, and made us smile. I had the venison (Eland) which I always enjoy, my wife had a steak which was fine, but too big for her. Both were well cooked. Wine was good, if a slightly limiting choice. We used Uber to get there and back from our hotel.I would go there again ifI wanted that sort of food. It is a shame about the venue, but I understand the need for safety.

Big Easy Wine Bar and Grill, is a place to relax, meet friends and enjoy some of lifeâs extravagances. The Wine Bar, offers an expansive selection of South African premier wines along with fine whiskies, craft beers and some of the worldâs choicest cigars
We enyoyed this place. PArt of the Hilton hotel, it is a bar and grill. The wine and food is expensive for Durban, but cheap by UK standards. The wine is based on Ernie Els' winery. We had a great burger, and good cocktails. The staff were friendly and cheerful. Perhaps lacking local flavour - no venison, for example - but a nice warm safe place to beDear Shawnh552Thank you for swinging by the Big Easy! We are delighted to hear that you had a brilliant round with us! We appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back to our fairways in the near future. Kind RegardsScott

A modern and stylish Grill/Steakhouse that offers a short and sizzling menu. The meaning of Jichana, "eating good" in Swahili, embraces the flavours and aromas of the original east Coast of Africa's spice route. Cassia, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom,
Travelling for a holiday starting from Cape Tow this was the best meat restaurant up till now. We had the chefs special fillet and a Wagyu rump and they were delicious. Combined with a perfect wine. Special thanks for Bhekani, our waiter for a wonderfull service.

Butcher Boys, an elegant upmarket steak restaurant, opened its doors in Morningside, Durban in November 1999. This sanctuary for meat lovers serve the best grain fed beef South Africa has to offer and our wet & dry aging process results in exceptional qua
Our first visit was great. All we could ask for, superb, perfectly matured and cooked ribeye steaks (the recommendation of our waiter) and a bottle of well priced Malbec. Service was efficient. We liked it so much we returned the next night. We normally have a rule "never go back". I wish we had stuck to it! The service was appalling. We enjoyed some very tasty biltong and were asked if we were ready for our mains straight away. We said we were, but 30 mins later they hadnât arrived. When they did, my burger and chips were barely warm, my partners steak bore little comparison with the previous nights. The waitress seemed a little out of her depth, not her fault, perhaps management should take a look at the training and supervision of its staff.Would give this place 5 stars for the first visit, only two for the second.Thank you for your feedback @crellston - consistency is key at Butcher Boys so we are disappointed to hear your 2nd visit was underwhleming. We have fed back to the team - its certainly not what we like to hear but we do appreciate the feedback.
