We had lunch at the Coin du feu today. I can say it was the best steak I have had for years. The Angus is wonderful and well worth the extra great frites wonderful profiteroles maisonette splendid seating outside under the lime tree. The evening we were at La Forge (Tuesday) there was no pizza, which was disappointing but not tragic. The food: The free appetizer was a surprise, both because it was the first we'd had after a week in France that we didn't order ourselves and because while neither of us is particularly fond of olives it was tasty. It also led to a discussion of both the Breton and Cornish flags, which have similar names. We had three crêpes, two savory (of buckwheat) and one sweet (of wheat). The crêpes themselves were finely done, not too overcooked and dry or too undercooked and soft (there is a sad tendency in the U.S. to confuse them with tortillas!), and they were just a little thin and crispy (hence, crêpes) around the edge. The toppings were of good quality and a pleasant quantity, and they were different â more imaginative â than any others we've had in France or elsewhere. There was a good selection of beverages, including local ciders and Breizh (Breton) Cola. There was even ice for that without difficulty. The service:Our server was helpful and friendly without being either overly-familiar or aloof. In addition to French, she also spoke at least sufficient English and Breton for our purpose. She was there when we needed her but didn't hover. The atmosphere:The flow of the room was pleasant, the table and chairs were comfortable, amid the decor was tasteful (and even appropriate) without being either spartan or baroque. The price:The cost for what we received was quite (in the American sense) reasonable.Thank's a lot !! And now, you can order pizza, steak and of course, crepes !! Hope to see you again.
