I feel sorry having to write a poor review, as this is mainly due to my very different expectations of the restaurant... But why on earth do you call yourself Pizzeria Veneziana, when you are a friendly greek Imbiss, run by an extremely friendly greek family? Call the place Pizzeria Mykonos and no italian in his right mind would expect anything like italian pizza... I must say the greek starters (Pikilia) were pretty good and extremely filling, why not stick to what you know best? Followed 2 pizzas: one Diavolo and one Spezial (with tuna, peppers, artichokes, and more...) The first impression was: 'There is water on my pizza!', which was confirmed by cutting through it and seeing the dow floating in colourless liquid. My best guess is that the oven wasn't hot enough, therefore onions and the jalapeno peppers resulted 'steamed' and lost a lot of water. The base was thick and very soggy, the toppings were tasty but with far too much cheese. The service was friendly and welcoming, the freshly renovated rooms gave a clean and sleek impression: an upclass Imbiss, but please expect Imbiss food and you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I went here for dinner with another couple. I had the lamb and green bean platter and my wife had the beef and green bean platter. These were both delicious. The other couple got their usual favorites (which I don't remember.) There was no food left on any of the plates. When we entered we were seated in the back room. This may be why our service was a little spotty since our table was out of sight of the rest of the diners. It took a while for the waiter to come to the table. And, our friend had to chase the waiter down to get the bread he promised to bring to the table. We ordered wine, beer, and a large bottle of still water to drink. The water was the most expensive drink!Be warned, they only accept cash for payment.

This place is not in Street View. In Street view there is still its predecessor. Do not know German but form the restaurant-kritik.de I gather that it opened in 2013 sometime.Place was filled with people on Thursday evening -- so locals like it. There was small ouzo as aperitif provided by the restaurant. We had -- house salad -- nothing earth shattering; gyros -- just normal gyros -- nothing particularly exciting; and lamb from the grill in metaxa + red pepper souse and rice with red paprika and herbs -- this dish was unique and good. So, one out of three dishes was "special". However, this special dish was 17.50 euro -- this is a bit pricey (IMHO).Overall, we paid 40-50 euro range for the above and one extra ouzo and a bottle of mineralwasser. In my mind, place is not bad, but next time in Wuppertal I will go some place else to try to see if there is a restaurant with better price-performance...

Hellas Restaurant

Hellas Grill, for more than twenty years they have served scores of stoned teens (who else would dream up a pizza with béarnaise sauce, pork fillet and broccoli), holiday makers longing for a bit of summer and locals. Though no Greek resident of Wuppertal will set foot in Hellas Grill. The food has over the years become diluted, the menu overbearing with items that read as if they once were what a customer asked for and somehow made it onto the menu. However, this takeaway turned restaurant is a favourite among the locals who swear they make the best Pizza. And it's true, they do make a good Pizza although the crown of "Best Pizza in Town" has been taken by a new venture. So why do the Greeks avoid it. Well there is no Metaxa Sauce in Greece, Greeks do not eat fried cheese as a main course and they don't eat Jägerschnitzel. It is, in the end, a takeaway run by Greeks who are very friendly and offer a speedy service. Order anything on the phone and it'll be ready in ten minutes.

Restaurant Piraus in Wuppertal

The selection of Greek restaurants in Wuppertal is not fantastic. Lots of Greek/pizza combi places that serve up plates heaped high with questionable meats and greasy fries. Top it all off with some iceberg salad and cheap cocktail creme - yuck!Piraus is a delight of a completely different kind. The food is fresh! The retsina comes in bottles and different sorts and they don't do iceberg salad. The dining surroundings are clean, fresh and tastefully decorated - not the usual kitch dust-covered statues and dim lighting. The service by the owner is friendly, open and honest. He will engage you in discussions of different wines and ouzos - if you want to , but has good sense and is not intrusive. The younger service people are friendly and like to joke around a little and always strike the right balance. The food is high quality and freshly prepared. They grill fish here and don't just throw everything into the fryer like most of the Greek restaurants in Wuppertal tend to do.I had a royal dorade and it was just that: big, perfectly grilled and well presented. In spring and summer you can even sit outside and enjoy the authentic fresh Greek food! This is the best in Wuppertal for Greek - enjoy!
