The "Apolafsi" tavern located to Marina of Plomari in Lesvos island. We offer greek kitchen, traditional food and grill food. We have nice view to the port of Plomari and to the aegean sea.
Run by a family and you can definitely feel this greek family vibe. The girls are kind, friendly and trying to help as much as they can.Very good foodVery good viewThe only reason I am not rating with a 5 is because the shrimps were not as I expected. Still good, probably cooked differently than they usually are where I come from
GREEK traditional taverna on the beach with fresh fishes, meat and vegetarian dishes.
A nice family tavern, a classic Greek menu.Good service and a great beachNice place to spend a whole day
Since the new owners took over a few years ago, this taverna has gone from strength to strength. It's open all year round with some lovely old pictures of the area inside and a blazing fire in winter. In summer (we are usually in the area early & late season) we like to sit at the waterside with a beer and watch the sun go down, then eat outside, or if windy head to the covered area, for a meze, grill or other traditional Greek food. Normally quite peaceful when we go, they have occasional live music nights in summer when it is buzzing with local Greeks enjoying the music and dancing in the street.

Taverna Maria Melinda located to the famus beach of Melinda 6km from Plomari in Lesvos Island. We are a family taverna, withh 50 years experiance. We offer greek and mediteranian kitchen, fresh local fish and grill meat.
Our family was vacationing nearby and found ourselves loving the folks, the food, the setting of Maria's Tavern. My husband and I so enjoyed the grilled fish, whereas other members of the family had grilled chicken, grilled beef (what we call a hamburger), grilled sausage, and omelette. The salad was also great with very fresh tomatoes!! We were able to walk to the restaurant. Also, the owners were so kind as to let our grandsons and their dad take out their paddle boat which was a big highlight of the vacation!!!

Taverna "O Grigoris" at Nyfida beach
The food was lovely but it was the host who made the evening - extremely welcoming and quite a character.
When you have kids and you are with friends who have kids too... well you do need to organize your lunch time. We went to this tavern at noon, trying to have a break from the sun. The problem started when half our kids wanted a souvlaki, others pizza and most of us adults an ouzo meze. Really surprised us all when we found out that Karaiskos could accommodate each and every one. There was souvlaki, pizza and mezes served in this 'all in one' tavern. The food was good, and the price was low. The service fast and the best thing was the tables by the sea and having lunch in your bathing suite. A great break.
Excellent traditional Greek restaurant, fine dishes at low prices. Above all others in Vatera Beach. Worth visiting.
The food is fantastic! You can expect the portions to be huge. Have a cocktail with your meal, I personally recommend the antifreeze and mexican sunrise :)the atmosphere is very cosy and you can have your meal on the terrace overlooking the beach and the sea.
It started with a Greek coffee that was the best I've ever tasted. We came back for dinner and were invited into the family. We've been to Vatera twice in the past 4 years; on the second visit - 4 years later - Angela remembered my name before I could remember hers! Mom Angela cooks to order - yes they have a menu, but ask her to surprise you; better yet tell her what you want and she'll perform magic - this is real Greek cuisine at its finest. Try they lamb chops - to die for. Or their Kalamari - even better (I died twice)! Greek salad the way it's meant to be - ah, I'm being treated like a Greek Gord (lol)! You are served within a minute of seating - anywhere you want, the place is literally on the beach - they cook the food across the main street (more like a pedestrian mall!), and walk it out to you. Their daughters visit with you if you are open to it, but also respect your privacy - Vatera is a quaint family town that has everything you want to get away - lots of cats, dogs, birds, beach, sun, sand, and snorkeling - best kept secret in Greece. By ferry from Piraeus to Mytilene, or fly into the Mytilene airport. Rent a car or take a bus - 1 hour from Mitilene. PS: I almost did NOT write this review because I want Vatera and this restaurant all to myself - if you are looking for a beautiful, original Greek getaway that is inexpensive, peaceful, and safe - Vatera, Lesvos is it.

The traditional tavern "ZOUROS RESTAURANT" is a family tavern with homemade delights recipes from 1961 until now ... offers authentic Greek cuisine with emphasis on quality, taste and service. The courtesy, the friendly environment and the real interest i
We gone there with some friends, and we had lots of fun at the sea-park they have. The beach bar they own had lots of super coctails and coffees. Now for the restaurant place the fact that i remember is that we ordered and in a period of 5 to 10 minutes all the plates was on our table! The food was delicious, the waiter was polite and in the end the brought us a delicious sweet! The next time we will visit Vatera, we will absolutely go there!
