It lies on the Pierian plain, between Mt. Olympus and the Thermaikos Gulf, at an altitude of 14 m. The city has a population of 85,851 (according to the 2014 census) and it is the second most populous urban area at the Region of Macedonia after Thessaloniki. The close distance between two cities (68km), has been beneficial for Katerini's development over recent years. Katerini is accessible from the main Thessaloniki–Athens highway GR-1/E75 (with the Katerini's South and North interchanges) and the Egnatia Odos to the north. It is served by Intercity, Proastiakos (Suburban Railway) and local trains on the main railway line from Athens to Thessaloniki and there is a comprehensive regional and national bus service with its hub in the city.

The location is great but the people who work there, most of them are rude. There is a lot of smoke in there (they should be the first to apply the law) and they never apologize when they bring you the coffee after 25 minutes... Not professionals at all! I didn't like it and I don't recomend it.

This is a great family restaurant. Friendly people, good choices of quality food and not overly expensive at all. Would highly recommend it. All the meat dishes are great, salads are refreshing and fresh and Fried Zucchini and Eggplant is especially crisp and lovely!!!

We were touring the beautiful region of Greece around mount Olympus, home of the Greek Gods, and stopped for half a day at the city of Katerini. We ran into this very cute and cozy restaurant called Kitchen Pasta, located very conveniently in the very center of the town, few steps from an outdoor parking lot -which was great as parking in the streets is often a hassle-. We felt like having Italian food so we decided we give it a try. The staff was very polite and friendly and made us feel at home. Our waiter explained that the pasta was all fresh, home made, and unique. Following some of his recommendations we ordered a quinoa salad -we had Greek salads for the past several days and wanted to try something different-, one of their pizzas with buffalo mozzarella cheese and three of their signature tortellini dishes that sounded really good. The salad arrived first and it was really wonderful. Very tasty, balanced, fresh and healthy. Soon the pizza and pasta arrived. This was the point where we got all so pleasantly surprised. The food was simply superb! All pastas we tried were top notch quality, tasting simply amazing. The tortellini we tried were filled with a variety of exquisite Greek and Cyprus cheeses and with fresh Greek vegetables and herbs. Some were vegetarian while others included unique traditional Greek meat cuts, or salmon. The sauces were delicate and perfectly accompanied the dishes. All ingredients were perfectly combined, giving each dish an elegant and distinct Greek flair. Absolutely amazing! Unique tastes, perfectly balanced! Same for the pizza! Could not be better. The Nemea wine we selected from the extensive list of Greek and Italian wines was a perfect match and made this evening the culinary highlight of our trip. We travel a lot in many countries and must say that rarely we encounter such gems! Thank you Kitchen Pasta! We enjoyed eating in this restaurant almost every night during our stay in Olympic beach. Dani, the host, was really friendly and seeing his warm and friendly interaction with guests made us feel like home. The rest of the staff were also delightful and even though they were very busy, they always had a smile on their faces.Food was also excellent and affordable. One even gets free ice cream at the end :)

the place has history more than 30 years maybe more ..i know it since my childhood and the quality and service is always stable and excellent..try many or take them at home.the way they cook the chicken and other recipes is unbelievable...worth the visit..it is easy to find it in the city of katerini is right next of the square of the katerinis town hallThank you for your kind words and your support over the years! :)

We had dinner with some friends and were impressed by the quality and delicacy of the plates. The filled zucchini with meat were to die for as well as the wild rice with raisins. We had beef in tomato sauce and pork with prosciutto that were really good, and the filled zucchini flowers were also very delicate. They made a traditional pasta dish that was also lovely. Definitely a must go place if in Katerini.

Visited here every year for past 5 years and previously it has been excellent. This year was a big disappointment. Barely enough meat to feed our large party and one who ordered chicken received her food over an hour later and we had all finished. The entrees were generous but no salads. It was such a let down that next year I wonât be returning.

We found Amalthea searching the net on our trip between Meteora and Thessaloniki and commented how one place can have so many good reviews.After visiting the charming brothers we fully understand why and how. It is exceptional.
