Love their chicken salad crossaint sandwich and my friend had an open faced pork loin sandwich which came with stuffing and potatoes!! It was excellent she said. My chicken crossaint was huge served with tons of fries. And of course their lemon rice soup is the best!
This is a great carryout place. They do have a small eat-in area, nothing fancy just some tables and chairs. Everything on the menu is above average and the service is always top-notch...

Excellent Italian beef sandwich and good homemade fries served in a cone! Just wish you didn't have to stand in line to order and menu on a chalk board. They do bring your food to your table.

Les Cafe Pancake House, in Highland, IN, is the area's leading restaurant serving Highland, Hammond, Munster and surrounding areas since 2004. We offer breakfast, lunch, pancakes, omelets, skillets, gourmet sandwiches, salads, wraps and much more. For you
We were staying in East Chicago (which had very limited dining options) and saw reviews for this restaurant on tripadvisor and Yelp. We happened to visit on Father's Day and expected a long wait. The restaurant was busy but we were seated within 20 mins. There were many families and the hostess/owner knew everyone by name. The menu had many breakfast options and the portions were large and reasonably priced. While our server was very busy, she was attentive to us. The owner even stopped by to check in on us and offer coffee. I wish we visited during the week; would love to have explored the area as the neighborhood had a small town feel. If you are in the area, skip the Cracker Barrel and travel the extra mile to Les Cafe. Who knows, someone may share a blessing with you similar to what we experienced.
