I have tried their bougatsas in the morning - kasseri and fetta cheese as well as the sweet one with cream. All really fresh and delicious. Tried also some sweets and ice cream. Also highly recommended, especially their ice cream which as we have been told is made by them. They also have a great variety of savory and sweet waffles and pancakes to select from. The place is also very clean and nicely decorated.

Even if you are in Chios for one night, check this place out. Reserve a table here for sure (if not, you will not find any). Let them serve you anything they want, anything they have. All made fresh, with respect to local produce and great understanding of how taste works. What a meal we had and at a great price!

This is another case of know what to expect and you won't be disappointed. It is an upmarket taverna that is clearly used to catering for a large number of patrons in peak season. It is a vast restaurant inside and has a reasonably large terrace overlooking a very attractive boat harbour on one side and the ocean and Turkey on the other side. It is not a small local taverna. We had an enjoyable meal here but I say this on the caveat that we came right at the end of the season and the restaurant was very quiet. We had extremely good service, our meal was pleasant and it was a relaxing experience sitting outside overlooking the harbour in the warm evening. We started with a Greek salad, which was plentiful and had lots of walnuts. My kataifi prawns main course were very tasty. The staff were very friendly, in fact we tried to tip them at the end of our meal and they handed money back to us! We would definitely eat here again. It isn't fine dining and it isn't family homestyle either, but it is an upmarket version of a taverna with decent quality Greek food with large serving sizes.

We were in Chios for Easter as it is regarded as a big festival in Greece. We were looking for a restaurant that specialises in the Easter holidays. Agyra, which means Anchor in English, was recommended to us by our hotel manager. She booked our table for us. When we arrived the restaurant was full of locals so we were lucky to get a table. The food was superb and the owner who took our order never wrote a thing down and when the food arrived it was exactly what we ordered and was served promptly. I will definitely use this restaurant again.

If I had only one chance to eat at Chios again, this place would be my choice!! I loved the atmosphere, the charming waitress who was sometimes flying around like the SuperGirl :), and the amazing food! I can't tell how much I loved the garlic bread they serve with food, the chicken souvlaki that I ate and rooster with pasta and eggplant dish that I have tasted from my friends plated :P We also loooooved the Roussiko salad, it is a must try here! Finally, they serve a huge brownie with ice cream and mastic pudding complimentarily!! What else a foodie like me could ask for ? ^^ Thank you ladies at the kitchen and the chef who turned our evening into a food coma!
