Okay, so the service was attentive, what did we leave out? The sound of the service! It was one of the loudest restaurants we have experienced. There was a relatively constant clatter of dishes that eventually became a table joke. Easy to fix with a bit of attention to detail!

Nicky's the Real McCoy is everything that you could want in a neighborhood/local gyro/burger joint. The staff is friendly and efficient. You can eat inside or outside at shaded tables. We ordered a medium rare cheeseburger and a gyro sandwich and both were big. We could only finish half of the gyro sandwich, it was so big. There is parking on the side. Nicky's the Real McCoy is located on Pulaski Rd., just south of 115th St. and has easy access in to and out of the parking lot. The prices are very reasonable.

The restaurant was slow and the service was slower. The gyro meat wasn't freshly cut but had been sitting about. The onions were paper thin and wilted while the cucumber sauce was very thin and had little taste. I had fried mushrooms also and they were served with what I was told was ranch dressing but I'm not sure. One previous reviewer noted that they had big portions and yes they do. That is a good thing if you are at the Cheesecake Factory but not a good thing if you happen to eat here.

There is nothing bad about this place but nothing stands out either. We have tried it several times. Typical family restaurant with huge menu. With so many othe choices in the area we'll skip this one in the future.
