Things to do in Trittenheim
As always, overtime we visit the area we seem to be drawn here. The chef is very good and even though the menu is simple, he does it very well. He will also work with you to personalise your order to suit your tastes. While it remains a tough challenge to find the place, it is indeed worth the effort.
We went out by car for a trip along the Mosel to discover the beauty of the region. We needed to stop for food and glad we found this place. The food was great and the wine served was of good taste. We thought, before going back home, we will bring some bottles for bring-home items.Trittenheim and the rest of the villages along the Mosel were full of vineyards, Evident of the wine they sell and served.

We chose this place as we wanted somewhere with German specialist dishes to try before we left our nearby self-catering accommodation. We sat outside on the busy terrace, although there was more seating inside in the bar area. I guess I would describe the food as good home German cooking (meat and vegetables) and it was reasonably priced.

Food was not tasty. The sauce was tasteless and could have come from a packet out of the supermarket. The meat was of poor quality. Chips were over-salted. The only good thing was the beautifull oversight of the Mosel river down in the valley. Probably worth visiting for a drink on the terrace outside, but if you're looking for good food you should look further.

We could not fault the setting, the service nor the actual quality of the food but it was everything else about the place. It just looked and felt "unloved". The outdoor dining area has so much potential - a pity better use isn't made of it.

We ate at this restaurant every night during our recent trip to the Mosel and both the food and the service were excellent. The host speaks almost perfect English and is permanently cheerful and attentive. If your in Leiwen or the surrounding area you must visit this restaurant!

Enjoyed a meal there with my wife. The waitress, also one of the owners is in her eighties! But still very sharp. The meal was gut burgerliche Kuche, simple but very good and tasty. The wine was local and very good. It was a very special experience! And at a very low price. Unbelievable!!

The guest house is located directly on the Moselle overlooking the top vineyard "Leiwener Laurentiuslay". In front of the door are bus stop, bike path and pleasure boat landing. Also Mosel leisure facilities with Wassertretbecken and shopping are in the i
We managed to snag a table on the terrace over looking the river. We came to this part of Germany basically for the wines and the restaurant has a wonderful selection of which we sampled many. We chose the 3 course dinner menu and it was delicious and well made. Our first course was Scheiben vom Iberico Onglet in Kapern- Thunfischsauce mit kleinem Salat which is their version of Vitello Tonnato and was thoroughly German and delicious. Main course was Rumpsteak vom Iberico Beef and was beautifully presented and yummy. I generally lean towards Mediterranean cuisines and have little experience with "Bavarian" flavour profiles so even though it was totally out of my wheelhouse is was really good. A nice introduction and change for my palette. The dessert, for me, was the star of the meal. Riesling Sabayon mit frischen Erdbeeren a Sabayon made with Riesling and strawberries. Absolutely divine. Bravo!

This place is new in town. An old building has been renovated with lots of passion at its best, the mix between old a d new is great. Many different little rooms to chose from and even the nenne is not so big, the food is very high standard due to the fantastic cook they have. You will not regret coming here !

This is a great spot in Trittenheim, easy walking distance from most of the accommodations in town. We had the wiener schnitzel with salad and chips. It was the best schnitzel we had in Germany. Reasonable prices too (around â¬12).
