While what seemed to be the owner was around, the staff was quick to get our food, serve our table and clean up. Once she left the scene, we couldn't get anyone's attention. We had to stand in line for nearly 10 minutes to pay our bill with no one tending the till but two workers on their cell phone behind the counter or hiding in the stairway. The owner showed up again and that is when, finally, we were able to pay the bill. Great food, service lacking

But definitely a tipical beergarden! The self-service concept allows freedom as to when to take meals and drinks. We enjoyed the ready-made tidbits and the authentic beergarden atmosphere! I'm so glad that I got to visit this place!The food was impeccably delicious, the service was of incredible standard, and the owner, along with the rest of the staff were super friendly and professional.The environment is so relaxed and enjoyable, with a playground for the kiddies too.I live in Bloemfontein, but when I visit Swakop again, I will definitely be visiting Viktoria's!!!!Thank you Tanita. We visited the Namib restaurant for an evening meal. We were told that the fish here was recommended, so we both chose the Kingklip, which was delicious. Service is friendly and we enjoyed a very nice evening here.

I eat at this place at least 4 times a month and I always have great steak. All the staff are very friendly. One of the owners are always around. The food is really good the place is affordable the portions are big. There is a lively atmosphere and if your just there for a drink a nice big bar. Bookings are required as far as I know and you can sit inside(nice and warm) semi inside(chili at night but nice in the day ps there's a nice heater), outside great in the day but at night take something warm with you (big fire pit). Once I had cold chips they sorted it out in a minute. Just take something warm.OH and they have Gluhwein.

Very Bavarian ambience. The goulash soup was excellent. My wife did not leave a drop and she never finishes a dish. The pork knuckle was very good. Convection roasted then deep fried a bit for a very crispy skin treatment. The sauerkraut and potato sides were OK. Very nice beer selection and friendly staff. Fair prices.

No atmosphere, ribs that were fatty and totally inedible. Wouldnt recommend this place at all. The fresh oysters are delicious and kept at a safe temperature. The salad was very crisp and flavorful. Wife and I both had the pasta which was very hearty and had a nice flavor. Accompanied by fresh hot bread. The service was attentive and very friendly. The manager was a pleasure to chat with and made the meal even better. I would recommend this place.

As a vegetarian I was a bit dubious about whether I would âget my moneyâs worthâ from a buffet style restaurant, but fear not, there is more food than any carnivore, omnivore, pescatarian or vegetarian could possibly get through, and all of the highest quality .The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were fantastic and the chef was lovely. He made a point of making everyone feel welcome and checking that everyone was happy with their food.There is a large salad bar, with everything from cheeses, to bean salad, pasta salads and more, fish, meat, veggies, pasta, potatoes , rice , several desserts and probably other things I have forgotten.I ate beyond the point of being full just to be able to try all the lovely food. Compliments to the team at the Old Steamer. Great food and a great night
