We have been here for breakfast with our daughter. The Cafe is pretty nice with a personal touch. The yoghurt bowl was excellent (and did look really nice - see the photo). The small breakfast (consisting of a bread roll with ham, cheese, cream cheese and jam plus a coffee or fresh made juice) was very good. One bread roll is not enough for all the toppings, hence I have ordered one bread roll on top - would make more sense to offer 2 bread rolls from the beginning or to limit the selection of toppings as it is a small breakfast. Anyhow, this is mourning about luxury problems. Only downside was that the egg was hard boiled (and take hard literally) without being asked if I wanna have a hard or soft boiled egg. Coffee (in my case a cappuccino) was excellent as well as the waffle which was ordered by our daughter. Summarized, a very nice breakfast even if there are better options in Stralsund. On a side note, the interior is somewhat stylish with a large bookshelf, two sofas and some more usual tables. I found it pretty nice. Staff has been friendly - not overly but was absolutely ok. I would consider to return occasionally.

What could be more romantic than brick walls and beamed ceilings? In the mediaval cellar of the Scheelshof Hotel is this Pub situated. They serve food also but we just watched a football game that evening shown on 2 large tv screens with a perfect sound system and enjoyed every minute with a delicious beer in our hands in a very civilized atmosphere.

It is a nice place where to eat and chill. Directly in front of the beauty Barbour and with a location that should be renovated, it looks like a nice fisherman's ship, that give to the restaurant a touch of essence. The fish is good, that could be make it more comfortable and be a 5 sterne fish restaurant

We had lunch here. The location near the waterfront is excellent. The staff was very nice and easy to talk to. We enjoyed the food but felt it was pretty expensive, especially for lunch. It also seemed to be a good place for getting a hot drink since we saw many people come in for that purpose.

I stumbled upon this restaurant as it was one of the few places open when I arrived in Stralsund at 4pm. The staff speak little English and the menu is completely in German but that's to be expected for a town of mostly local tourists.I blindly picked the first fish dish which was matjes (according to the internet this is popular in the area, you can read more about this on wikipedia) and it turned out to be excellent! The fish tasted very delicate and the sauces/sides all complemented the flavour well. I highly recommend it!Thank you vey much.

This restaurant is away from the shopping and harbour areas but we would certainly recommend booking here, especially at weekends. It is a typical German restaurant, exposed wood and a well amongst other features. The food was good, our schnitzel literally covered the plate. It is also very inexpensive, another plus. The beer was nice as well!

We had read good reviews of this place on Trip Advisor, and they weren't wrong. The staff was very accommodating, even finding us a waiter who was fluent in English. We had very good beer, and then a wonderful dinner to go with it. The service was excellent, and we were even lucky enough to sit next to a German couple who spoke English. We had a really nice time, and the couple told us that they come to this restaurant whenever they visit Stralsund. We would recommend it highly.

This restaurant is located in a former mayors house of Stralsund in the Old Market across from the city hall. The architecture of the building is very cool. The food was tasty and the service was excellent. Our waitress went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed our experience. Fish is definitely on the menu and the fish soup was great..although a little salty. But you know what they say you can never over salt fish!

Braugasthaus Zum Alten Fritz is situated some way from the centre of town, but can be reached by #3 bus (stop - Brauerei)The place is the Ausschank of the Störtebeker brewery so carries their full range of draught and bottled beers. The menu is pretty typically North German with a leaning towards fish and the standard of cooking is good.I had some difficulty in attracting my server's attention as he concentrated on the 4 blokes at the adjacent table - I guess it was just another instance of SDS (Single Diner Syndrome). The beer was good too. Anyone visiting in a group of two or more will probably give the place 5 stars.

We did not understand why people that came after us, and ordered after us, were served and had almost finished why we were still waiting for our food to come. However, such a long waiting time should be communicated, which was not the case. Strange, the food as such was pretty delicious.
