We took a break from our trip to Maria Zell and our guide took us to this restaurant and got us to taste some Klosterkrapfen. We tried some soup and spinach quiche there as well. Decent food and inexpensive. Glad we tried the doughnut Austrian style.

We visited this place twice and the second visit was becase we saw the the food which the restaurant served. First time we ordered only radler and enjoyed the view on the super green grass. Second time we ordered wiener schnitzel and the schnitzel was very good and the size of the portion was for two and not for one person :-) I can recommended this place on your trip.

The place are without air conditioning and the temperature this days was 30cThe buffet was without opportunity for diabetic or vegan persons.Most of the dishes was traditional Austrian heavy and oily foods.The employees there was just there , no friendly and helpful.It was a sad experience.

We have stayed at Knappenhof for 3 nights and had breakfasts, lunches, and dinners here. The quality was overall decent, with some dishes that had very good quality and some that have been mediocre. The best dish would be the chicken salad and wiener schnitzel. The soups have also been very good. On the other hand, the daily specials like the t-bone steak, were mediocre to say the least. The biggest adventure is the wasp kingdom, which Knappenhof appears to be in the middle of. Every dinner we have killed at least 20 of them using juice or anything else sweet as a trap :)
