A variety of delicious fish dishes to choose from. Friendly serving staff make one feel welcome. Nice decor inside; seating area outside which doesn't feel like you're sitting on the roadside! One of the better restaurants in this area with good quality food and a great selection of coffees/teas with alcohol!

We had an excellent dinner at Esszimmer. The service is very friendly and attentive. Any extra wish gets fulfilled and the quality of food - which ingredients are mainly from local suppliers - is very well. Asparagus and a wonderful on the point prepared rumpsteak just to mention one.

Food here was ok, relatively large selection of fish and meat dishes and a nice view of the dunes of you are lucky. The service was great, very friendly and helpful. The decor is a (deliberate?) mix of anything you might find on the attic, in the cellar or in the ditch behind the house. The result is irritating at best.

A very attractive looking place, we stopped for a drink and sat in a Strandkorb with fleeces over our knees to keep warm. Staff friendly and efficient. We ordered an espresso macchiato and a herbal tea along with cheesecake and an orange creme brûlée. All delicious and beautifully presented.

Looks are definitely deceiving - was expecting rustic seafood type but surprised by fascinating and delicious menu. (Salmon tartar and kimchi cucumber!) Setting was wonderful with views over Wadden Sea. Staff friendly and helpful and super fast service. Would recommend.

Visited today as a group of 7 - reservations are required. Specialises in fish and other local dishes. 5 of us had various fish dishes that were excellent and 2 had Wiener Schnitzels that were average. A bit more expensive than most restaurants here but worth paying for.

We had a great evening at Die Fliegerei! This restaurant has a new chef and team since April and they perform very well.We were a group of 9 and all had 3 courses. The staff was excellent, very friendly (but with the typical northern German slowness) and communicative. The food was amazing! From salads with smoked wild boar to the salmon terrine to tagliatelle with chanterelles we started very good. The main courses were all at a high performance level. We had different meat and fish dishes with products of excellent quality. The desserts closed a wonderful dinner and we had the pleasure to talk to the head chef. The team around chef Marco Diebold is very passionate about what they do and how they do it. He and his maitre d' know what they do and why they combine this wine to that dish. All in all it is worth taking the car to drive to the airfield and have a relaxed and culinary high performing evening. We would definitely go back there (in fact, some of us went a second time two days later)!

The restaurant was packed inside, so we had to sit outside, but the sun came out and we were really warm and sheltered with the large glass panels of the terrace. Lovely to sit and listen to the sound of the sea and watch the tide coming in. We had matjes herrings with fried potato, potato soup with North Sea shrimps, a burger and curry wurst. Everyone happy with their food. A great location.
