After a healthy walk along the Soleleitnungweg on a very cold day the warm welcome and warm soup available here was just what was needed to thaw us out.

The Cafe Niedermayer is a combination bakery and cafe located in Ramsau at the intersection of Im Tal road and route 305. While vacationing in town for a few days, we had the opportunity to visit Niedermayer multiple times. The bakery has a wide variety of goods for sale and seems to cater largely to the carry-out crowd. There is an arched doorway on the east wall of the bakery leading to the cafe, where one can sit and order from a breakfast and lunch menu. The cafe is attractive; both light and cozy. The wait staff was generally friendly, and some speak English. The breakfast menu offered a variety of set breakfasts, as well as a la carte items. The meals were tasty and prepared quickly. A note about timing one's visit: one day we got there late in the morning, during an hour or so when orders were no longer being accepted from the breakfast menu and not yet being accepted from the lunch menu. The only option then was to go back into the bakery section, select pastry items from the counter, pay for them, return to the cafe, and one of the staff would then bring the items to us, and we could then order tea, orange juice, etc. to have with the pastries. There is parking by the building, but it is sometimes pretty full as the to-go customers come and go. There's another 6 or 8 public parking places on the north side of Im Tal road, across from the Niedermayer building.Note that as of early May 2019, the intersection of B305 and Im Tal road was under reconstruction and required some caution when negotiating the street in front of the cafe.

My husband and I have eaten in this hotel's restaurant about 10 times over the years and the food is yummy! The portions are large, service is good and the prices are reasonable and the food incredible.

We come here regularly to eat in the panoramic restaurant. The food is typically German, the wild deer goulash is excellent and in the asparagus season you cant have enough. The staff are also great fun and really welcoming.

Service was courteous & fast BUT of all the food the only thing nice was the saurkraut on either of the 2 dishes. The dumpling tasted horrible & the fried meatloaf, forget it. The hamburger type thing was re-gurgitated. Could still be tasted 2 hours later.Anyway, in two months of travelling, eating & generally enjoying local cusines in most Northern European countries, this tucker was definitely bottom of the list.

We first visited when there was a village brass band playing in the grounds and we found the food satisfying and reasonable. Not high class but a good choice of meals with friendly staff serving you. You may need to book in busy periods.

What a beautiful restaurant! Typical old Bavarian house..Charming staff, gorgeous sorroundings. Tried several dishes from pork schnitzel which is delicious, crispy and large! bread dumplings with mushroom sauce.. yummy... tender and juicy knuckle of pork..slow cooked to perfection. I also recommend their soups..to be honest everything is excellent. Portions are generous. One of those places you just want to stay and enjoy the decor or the peaceful beer garden. Fresh wheat beer on tap!Kitchen closes at 20:00. Later than that only snacks are served.

This is a very good example of a typical Bavarian Gastenhof serving very well priced local food with the additional value of a magnificent view to the Alps and a lovely emerald green lake.Worth the 34 Km detour from the beautiful Ramsau

We stay here every year. The room are clean, comfortable and warm. Frau Laube is very helpful and welcoming to our family, which consits of parents, children and grand children. Beautiful home made food, service is great, very accommadating. We recommend that you get a balcony room for the fabulous views and star gazing. This is a high altitude accommadation however there is lots of walks around the mountains that are level, and great for granda's and prams. The beer and snapps are particulary good according to father.

we stopped in famous RAMSAU, to visit Pfarrkirche St.Sebastian, on January 04, 2016. On a cold Winter day it was time to have a Cappuccino and we located " Lichtmannegger's, it sitting on a high elevation where you can get some great mountain view scenery on a clear day. It is a beautiful setting, in a Bavarian House, next to a Hotel, with lots of parking spaces, from what I was able to witness, LUNCH is an elegant, classy setting. We had our Cappuccino in the Bar which was also a cozy place. Melanie was our waitress and she she did a fine job. The Cappuccino was good and if you are in the area, stop by, it is certainly worthwhile. Here you pay Euro 3.10 for a cup of Cappuccino in other places they want Euro 5.00
