This restaurant was recommended by our hotel--a family of 6, including three grandchildren--so schnitzel/chips were high on their list. The service was excellent;the menu however all in German( just as well we had a local friend with us). Main courses were delicious. No problems with parking ( it's adjacent to a large ski lift car park), but only payment in cash--no credit card. like many places in Bavaria.

As it was Thursday evening the restaurant opens until 10pm as it does on Mondays as opposed to 7pm on other days with the exception of Tuesday when closed. We were quickly seated and received a friendly welcome from the host. The setting is typical alpine with wood everywhere. There are daily specials as well as the published menu and I chose the braised Ox Cheeks from the daily offering which were delicious and served in a rich sauce with Spetzle and salad. There are a choice of beers, wines and soft drinks to choose from and the atmosphere is great. The restaurant only accepts cash payments at present and our meal with drinks was 55 Euros which was was for 2 mains, a side salad, beers, wine and 2 coffees and offers great value. Situated just across the railway line and next to the museum it is a short walk out of the main area and well worth the walk. Good hearty regional food.
Overall good selection for everyone of healthier options. My only disappointment was there were no prices. I also would have liked the option to do a la carte vs. fixed menu. All in all, everyone enjoyed their meal.

The Alpe Mohr is one of the classier mountain "restaurants" in the Oberallgäu area and only gets better with age. At our most recent visit we enjoyed a cold plate of sausage and cheese along with a beer and apple juice. The service was very pleasant and soon after we started our snack, a musician with a hand organ showed up to entertain the guests out on the terrace.Admittedly the average age of most of the visitors was close to if not exceeding that of retirement, but everyone seemed to be in good spirits, which was bouyed even more so by the enthusiastic hostess. To get up to the Alm you either have to hike a steep paved road, or if you drive, pay a small fee to use the private road. Or do as we did, ride your mountain bikes over the hills and enjoy the hard-earned calories.

This place is Cloud 9 in Heaven on Earth. We visited a number of times during our stay and enjoyed delicious coffee, teas, smoothies, and ice creams. Super friendly and genuine hospitality. I just wish we'd brought our dog, as they all get loving cuddles and special dog treats... So wonderful to witness. We'll be back!

The bar/café was a welcome place to relax after a bracing walk in the snow. The staff we helpful with some English and the drinks we had were excellent. The food looked good but we didn't get a chance to try it.

We came here on a snowy evening in October after a recommendation from a local. We had a great time, the service was cheerful and very friendly, the food was local, very tasty and fresh and the price for the entire dinner with our kids was very reasonable. The interior is very much Bavarian style and the place is very popular with the locals. Try the Spätzle, they are really nice. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Oberstaufen.

An outstanding meal with wines for each course chosen by the sommelier in a very modern building. We had a rucola/goat's cheese salad, home-smoked salmon, large grilled prawns and a salmon trout filet, but only one dessert of Bavarian cream, chocolate gel and sorbet. The wine waiter described the wine for each dish and why he recommended them. It was a memorable, special evening. Probably more for couples than families. Would definitely recommend it.

Modern meets traditional bavarian charme, here a well balanced combination in near perfection.Food is very good, service outstanding and atmosphere relaxed. Next time i will take part in their well-known cheese-making courses in the Hotel even if it costs me half a day skiing! Not to miss the "Dorfladen" beside the restaurant which sells their own products(cheeses,Molke,honey,bread,milk,...) and bavarian souvenirs. We'll be back next year.

We went there without a reservation and just got the last table. We ordered a local wine (OK), Wiener schnitzel (excellent) and pork medallions (excellent). We both also ordered potato salad and fried onions (again both excellent). The presentation was outstanding. The greeting was friendly and we were immediately recognised as British, spoken to in English and given an English menu, although the specials were only in German which our host translated for us.The atmosphere inside is of a traditional Bavarian restaurant (a very busy one!) and remember it only opens at 5pm and is closed on a Monday. We will return for one of the best meals we've had for a while.
