We rolled up here looking for a decent German lunch and wasn't disappointed. As the title indicates the portions were not small, but the quality didn't suffer as it can in some other places around the world.Four of us had full main courses and the fifth having from the 'not very hungry' menu. All dishes turned up in reasonable time, piping hot from the kitchen. And despite the portions there was none left by the end of the meal (though a little helping out was required for the youngest member of the party and he's 11 and eats heartily).Service was good. On arrival we had thought about eating outside, but there was no room. Whilst waiting for our meal we were asked if we wanted to move to an outside table that had become free; a lovely thought.

Wir waren mit einer ganzen Gruppe beim Fuchs.Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Die Speisekarte ist nicht zu groÃ, bietet aber eine Anzahl von sehr ansprechenden Gerichten. Die Portionen sind gut aber nicht zu groà und da passt auch noch eine Nachspeise. Insbesondere der Kaiserschmarrn hatte es angetan. Der Salat ist absolut frisch und nicht in der SoÃe ertränkt! Die Preise sind für die Gegend nicht billig, aber dafür ausgezeichnet zubereitet und auch das Auge ist mit. Das Lokal ist barrierefrei zu erreichen und auch innen passt alles.Im Sommer gibt es Plätze im Freien. AuÃer der schönen Gaststube die abgetrennt werden kann, gibt es noch einen Nebenraum.Ein schönes und sauberes Lokal mit ausgezeichneten Essen.Wir kommen wieder!!!

Gemütliches bayrisches Wirtshaus mit traditioneller Küche! Hier wird noch die Bayrische Gastfreundlichkeit in netter Atmosphäre gelebt. Das Essen ist frisch und die Portionen sind ausreichend. Zu empfehlen sind die regionalen Bierspezialitäten wie z.B. von der Traditionsbrauerei Lang Bräu aus dem benachbarten Freyung oder dem Jandelsbrunner Pils. Insgesamt ein angenehmes Lokal und bei einem Besuch im Bayerischen Wald sehr zu empfehlen.Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und sehr nettes Personal.

We went to visit Bayerische Wald and decided to visit the Lusen and sleep over at the Lusenwirt. The mountain itself was amazing! Although it started raining... The Lusenwirt is actually direct under the peak and so is nicest to reach via the Sommerweg. The people here are super nice, the food hearty and good and the beds soft. There are three rooms with 3-4 beds and one bigger room with 9 beds. We slept with two in the three person room. Really nice and cosy. The price was a bit expensive, but it includes a breakfast. The price for the food is normal. It ws a bit dark inside, due to the windows that are so small you almost forget that you are in an amazig piece of nature! However the small windows also give you a feeling of home and sheltered. We loved it!

We have eaten here for over 10 years and the quality is always good, with excellent prices. It is a great family restaurant which serves very good Bavarian cuisine. You HAVE to try a Knoedel, and the Schweinshaxe on a Thursday are brilliant.

Just found this place by walking around and seeing the advertising of a kids farm. Turned out that this was a bit more than a local farm. It was a guesthouse with rooms and holiday houses, and restaurant with terrace, playground, small animals and deers... No wonder there was also deer on the menu. And the taste was splendid. Big dishes, nice salads, kids had hard time to finish theirs. Lovely and modern terrace. And even though this place is located just next to a road, since this is countryside, it's more meant for passers-by or people staying there, so no big traffic, expect for the occasional farmers. A place to return to...

This cafe-restaurant which is a self-service is directly located in the national park of the Bavarian forest in Baumwipfelpfad. It offers perfect refreshment from cold drinks to snack or complete meal and dessert. Everything was much better than we've expected. Really recommendable

Es handelt sich um eine nette Wirtschaft mit ausgezeichneter, schmackhafter und teilweise deftiger Hausmannkost zu vernünftigen Preisen. Auch das gemütliche Ambiente ist typisch für den Bayerischen Wald. Auch mit dem Service waren wir sehr zufrieden.

Our hotelier had recommended RC Liz and we were somewhat disappointed that it was not open on our first attempted visit on a Tuesday evening (contrary to Google information stating that it was open).On our way back from the local forest park to hotel on Wednesday we stopped in for a quick drink and to establish availability for Thursday.Our host.. Liz.. (see how that works?) explained about why they do not open on Tuesdays and also that my query via Google something or other as to their opening in May had been answered - I still have not found my original question let alone response but that's an aside.Liz herself waited on us on both Wednesday for drinks and on Thursday on our return visit for a meal, and to say that she is chatty would be an understatement - but not in a bad way.Although I had initially partaken of a light beer, Liz queried whether I would like to try and dark beer with my meal as this was generally favoured by the locals. This is exactly the sort of service that sets hosts and venues apart from the competition.Our meals included bavarian dumpling soup - think a faggot in a thin but tasty soup - a pasta dish of some type for my far-better-half and a pork based option for myself.All were very good and had it not been for us having to leave to come home on Friday morning then I am sure that we would have revisited.

Nothing new. Excellent soups and main meals. We had three variants of beef- steak, salad and skewer- and all meals were without a problem. Very good poppy seed cake. Really recommended
