After a lovely leisurely stroll along the Saar river in one of its most beautiful spots , have a relaxing meal. This is a family style cooking restaurant in a decor like a bavarian home. Mostly fresh local seasonal products are used. The service was very friendly, good advice and efficient.

We popped in on a Saturday afternoon to see if they could squeeze us in that night, and they said they could as long as we arrived at 6pm and didn't mind a small table by the door - fair enough. Unless the weather is fine enough to sit on the terrace, there aren't that many tables, so it is wise to make a reservation. From our early seats by the door we watched a stream of people with reservations arrive, all of whom greeted the owner(?) as if they were old friends - they probably were. Service was slick and a number of local wines were available by the glass. The menu is quite traditional (we had schnitzel and liver, which was well cooked), but there were several vegetarian choices, pasta and fish as well as the usual meat-heavy German cuisine. Good value. I'd definitely eat here again if I go back to Orscholz.

As we heard quite a lot from the locals to eat there we gave it a try. The food was really salty but homemade. The so-called world famous flieten (Chicken wings) were just OK. Nothing specials from my point of view. But again really salted.

Stopped here for lunch after seeing the Saarschleife. The food was delicious and plentiful. I had the daiy special which was a combination plate of roast pork, baked chicken, fish baked in a bananna leaf with potatoes and salad. The service was prompt and courteous. Lovely Location. Would definately recommend this restaurant

The city was somehow deserted for Easter, but this restaurant / breweri was actually almost crowded! We had great local beer and- off course- schnitzel! Huge, battered piece of pork, served with French fries, nice side salad and different sauces. Good bierstube atmosphere and a lovely view over the hills.

Good service and tasty burgers, although the burgers were a little on the small size. The gemischter salad was simple, and lightly dressed, but the croutons were too hard to eat and some of the salad leaves were wilted. The flammkuchen was a little under-cooked and not very crispy, but had good taste. The fries were good but not great.

We started with the garlic potato soup which was very good and filling so we were unable to finish our main courses. Our son was not disappointed when we brought our leftovers home. We were pleasantly surprised they had and English menu even though one wasn't posted outside. The food was very good and the service was great. Just what we were looking for to end our afternoon stroll through the outlet before heading home.

We stopped by Landidyll Landhotel Saarschleife on our way back from Luxembourg and what a great find! Turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip & definitely ranks among the best gnocchi I've ever, ever had!Started out with an *incredible* cocktail - Lavender infused gin, lemon & cremant - so good!As we're perusing the menus, out comes an amuse of roasted tomato & pickled onions - packed with flavor! It was asparagus season & we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to have as many delicious spears as possibleMr ordered the classic & traditional white asparagus with new potatoes in hollandaise sauce. Those spears were cooked to perfection - still had a bit of crunch and the texture contained no hard woody bits at all - the Mr said these were the best spears he's ever had & from him, that's saying something, given his Bavarian heritageMy gnocchi arrived & I was blown away. Tempura green spears sat atop the tenderest, stuffed pillows - filled with even more asparagus. The pesto sauce & cheese were the perfect ratios & even the Mr had huge eye rollsDessert consisted of a fantastic cheese plate, showcasing the region's finest & we walked out of there totally stuffed & totally happy & totally looking forward to coming back!! I am still dreaming of that gnocchi!!
