the little charming hotel has great foodthe cold platters and salads plentiful. roast beef rare and juicy. cold platters good. the best is the Entrecöte. delicious, rare and soft.dessert nice and small and just right. creme brulée, mascapone, panacotta all very good.midnight borscht and pastry with meat good. excellent service.next day breakfast also very good.

The atoshpere comment is that the restaurant is styled very much like a lot of other restaurants in Germany I have eaten in. Very quiet clientele and a bit too formal. Not a criticism, just an observation. It is just on the parade in Timmendorfer Strand so you get to see all the people in their Hyundai i10s promenading in front, the lack of atmosphere in the restaurant is maximised when you hear the cars rumbling along the paved surface, the same i10 sounds like a HumVee rumbling past....obviously on their way to Cafe Wichtig...My partner and her father had Dorchfilet (Haddock IIRC) - delicious, pfifferlinge and potatoes, while I had the pfifflerlinge (mushrooms), roast potato. Excellent dishes. Starter for me was vitello tomato (beef in tuna sauce) and father had shrimps. excellent again. Plus point for me was the availability of Franziskaner Weissbier, nice change from Erdinger. Wir haben hier leider nicht alle übernachten können ....das hat dem Entenschmaus aber keineswegs geschadet. Ein hervorragendes Menü und ein exzellenter Service ...so verwöhnt zu werden ist einfach wunderbar. Das alles ist nicht umsonst, in Anbetracht der Qualität aber doch moderat. Wir kommen wieder keine Frage !!! Warum ich das Restaurant Butz nun hier nicht finde ..... egal ....Danke für das leckes Essen.

Wow - what a find! This restaurant was recommended to us by a local whilst staying in Scharbeutz for a typical beach family holiday. It is off the beaten track and not simply one to come across accidentally. It has a modern feel with a lovely atmosphere and we were welcomed and served without delay. Being a party of 8 with extended family and friends coming together for the occasion we all ordered different dishes from the extensive menu which arrived surprisingly quickly. The children's meals arrived first which is always a good sign followed immediately by all adult dishes. Everyone was impressed, everyone praised the food they had and there were clean plates all round. Our son even called it his "best meal ever" and given that the bill came to less than â¬20 per person including drinks it was clearly excellent value for money, too. Highly recommended and worth the short drive when staying in the area.

The Café Wichtig is located next to the Gosch restaurant in Scharbeutz and normally is pretty crwoded. I went there with a friend of mine for a breakfast on Saturday at around 11 am and luckily we got a table right at the window to the beach.The quality of the breakfast was average - nothing special and the fresh Orange juice is very small. The service was poor and the two waiters did not seem to look after their guests that well. It took ages to order a new tea and it also took a lot of time, til they did clean up the table.

An excellent restaurant, serving mostly steaks. Service was very friendly and Professional, the food came quickly. We had a pork cutlet on the bone, which was HUGE (at least 1kg), cooked medium rare (not sure they intended it this way, as most people would want theirs well done, but the meat was very good quality and I like it what way) as well as a rib eye, tender, juicy, cooked exactly as ordered. Outdoor seating is nice on a warm evening. Be sure to reserve a table. Our daughter (one year) enjoyed it particularly.

Seitdem das Restaurant neue Besitzer hat, ist es sehr viel besser geworden. Wir waren schon häufiger dort und die Qualität des Essens war jedes Mal sehr gut. Lediglich die Rotweinzwiebeln waren bisher nicht nach unserem Geschmack. Der Gruà aus der Küche und die Blumen für die Damen sind eine nette Aufmerksamkeit. Der Service entspricht allerdings nicht den eigenen Ansprüchen. Es wird vermittelt ein gehobeneres Restaurant sein zu wollen aber diesen Eindruck machen die Bedienungen wieder zunichte. Beim Bedienen und Abräumen wird über die Gäste gegriffen anstatt um sie herum zu gehen und auch teilweise abgeräumt, obwohl mindestens ein Gast am Tisch noch isst. Auch bei der Geschwindigkeit muss noch zugelegt werden. 30 Minuten auf die Rechnung zu warten muss nicht sein.

This is a wonderful place to dine. The staff fantastic the food amazing the atmosphere warm and friendly, it's s must. The menu is extensive with a wide range from fresh fish to meat dishes and vegetarian options as well. Plenty of good wines on the menu as well. The staff look after you and once your sat comfortable you can just relax into the evening and enjoy your meal. It's a great place for all kinds of visitors from business to romance. I definitely recommend this place.
