We had a going away luncheon for 6 people at noon on a Tuesday. We received drinks fairly rapidly, within 10 minutes of arriving, but then the wait to order and actually get food took forever. We waited over an hour to order and couldn't get any attention from the staff for more drinks or anything. We tried to order off off the handwritten daily menu, but that was from Christmas time and not available. Think about wiping your board often? When the food finally came, the pork was way overlooked and tough. Tough pork in Germany? Amazing. Same situation with the salmon. Some boring salads as well. Again we wanted to order desert, but after another half hour wait we just ordered the bill. The beer is great...if you can actually get served.

Everything was perfect during my stay but people working behind the desk at the reception could be a lutté more welcoming...

This restaurant is a surprise on Schiller Platz in the heart of Kaiserslautern. It is even rated with a Michelin star. Dining is available indoors in the lovely dining room or outside, weather permitting. Service is very good and the staff is friendly and helpful. They speak German and English, and who knows what else. The menu has a good selection with seasonal specialities. We had an omelette with white asparagus with hollandaise sauce since it was Spargel season. The wine selection is good with wine by the glass or bottle. The prices range from European reasonable (EUR 15) to high, depending on what you order. Dress for lunch ranged from casual to business men in suits. Everything that we have had there was very good. Our big surprise was coming back after eight years away and running into our piano tuner! Try it sometime. you will want to come back.

Looks like this place is listed 3 or 4 times. I'm adding my review to the iteration with the most reviews. I've only ordered red meat dishes here: rack of lamb, pepper-steak, and chateaubriand. They cook the meat to the perfect temperature. Never over done. Perfect three out of three. The service is good. The staff are very friendly and hard working.I was fortunate to visit in the summer, fantastic weather, outdoor seating. Can't ask for much more. The price is fair, not cheap, but did not feel overpriced at all either.Another review mentioned difficulty parking. One block south, 2 mins walking, there's a huge parking lot. Not sure how the other reviewer could have missed that. The only downside; annoying yanks on skype yelling across the ocean to the person. And popular with army guys in fatigues.

Had dinner there with my wife and daughter. Flammkuchen is like a flat bread and you can use many different toppings. The food was very good and the dessert apple Flammkuchen was extraordinary and a new experience for us. The owner was a most delightful fellow. Gave us lots of information as to where to go and what to see in the area,. Recommended other restaurants that we found to be excellent as well. The food is great and we liked the place very much. If you want a different type of dining experience, then try this place. I recommend it .

So disappointed tonight, highly recommended this restaurant to our friends visiting from the US... got vinegar wine.... did not drink itâasked for a different wine and explained that this was a bad bottle... we weâre still charged full price for 3 glasses! They disagreed with us. Will not return.. very disappointed, despite decent food... definitely never have been the friendliest to Americans... but we overlooked because we liked the food... wonât be returning Dear customer,we are sorry for the inconvenience. But you have to understand, that the wine was not bad, it just wasn't your taste. The three glasses came from two different bottles. Either both of them are bad bottles or none. But as we tried the second bottle ourselves after your complaint, we can assure, that it wasn't a bad bottle. We never had any complaints regarding this wine. If you order wine, you can ask for a small sample before getting a whole glass. We happily bring you a sip of wine to taste, so that such things don't happen. I guess it is understandable that we can't take everything from the bill that someone dislikes as tastes are different.

Popped in for lunch after enjoying the weekend market. They have outdoor and indoor seating. I ordered the Eisbein pork Knuckle which came with a huge dollop of mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. I enjoy my food as well as the beer.
