Find out what German restaurants to try in Immenstadt im Allgau. Immenstadt im Allgäu is a town in the Upper Allgäu, the southernmost district of Bavaria, Germany, in the German Alps. First mentioned in a 1275 administrative tract, it was granted town privileges in 1360, which makes it one of the oldest towns in the area. It was the seat of the counts of Königsegg-Rothenfels until 1804.

My partner and I have visited this restaurant twice now, and both times we were very pleased. We both ordered the schweinsehaxe - I ordered it with mashed potato and sauerkraut and my partner ordered it with knoedel (basically dumplings). We both really enjoyed the food and the service was great - the staff were very attentive and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The menu is in strong Bayern dialect though,so if you don't have a German speaker with you then you may struggle a little bit!

Certainly there are numerous more expensive dining experiences throughout Bayern, however, this place sits permanently in my mental board of directors, for it is here, in the heart of Immenstadt, that my fellow five lifelong friends and I meet whenever we travel here from the States. Usually, weather permitting, we sit outside...viewing the Marienplatz surroundings and chatting on endlessly, as if it were a "Stamtisch." When thinking about the Relex Bistro, I can almost feel the fresh air, wondrous chatter, EXTRAORDINARY service and always dependable cuisine...a must stop to just, well, simply RELAX.

We were 6 to eat there and luckily there was plenty of space left inside without any reservation needed. They have their own burger which is really good. The fries and salad were satisfying as well. The presentation of the fries was rather funny and pretty. If I had to say one negative thing (but it concerns not only that restaurant): itâs to ask if the person wants ketchup or to make smaller cups. I think most of the time people donât want it or definitely donât eat this huge cup and it ends up as a waste. I would recommand this place, the others were also rather satisfied with their dish. We spent a good evening there.

The restaurant in the centre of Immenstadt was very welcoming with a nice ambiance. The menu had a wide choice. We started with pumpkins soup, which was delicious, I then had wild boar, which was very tender and well presented. My wife had risotto of spinach, cheese, mushrooms and cheese, which she assured me was delicious, but very filling. The service was polite and helpful and our waitress spoke good english and provided an english menu with some interesting translations, which saved us struggling with the dictionary. A very enjoyable evening

One of the most authentic, tasty Bavarian meal experiences. The quaint cafe has an incredible panorama of the alps from the outside terrace, as well as fun castle ruins, a small playground and a functioning dairy farm to explore while waiting for your food/after your meal. The service is excellent and very friendly. The cakes are simply stunning, and taste just as good as they look -- could barely believe they were homemade! They are closed on Thursdays, but open every other day of the week. My favorite meal in the Allgäu -- have been back here multiple times!

I rarely eat at hotel restaurants but the restaurant in the Hotel Krone is an exception. Nice atmosphere, excellent service and wonderful food make for a relaxing meal. If I were a local, I'd frequent this restaurant as well.

We were refused entrance even after having received a confirmation of our reservation. Reason: we complained about their bad responsiveness. The lady just: you should read our email which the apparantly did send after confirming our reservation. An email which must have ended up in the spam box. Then just left us standing on Boxing day without food!

You can find this "cheerful deer" in a tiny hamlet of Akams near Immenstadt. It is an old inn which has plenty of game at its menu. You can eat in the garden where a local farmer happened to transport haystacks between the tables! The old restaurant inside is impressive with its old furniture, and especially impressive is an ancient wooden toilet. Excellent bavarian beer, which alone made the trip worthwhile!
