On the advise from our hotel we visited this establishment and found it to be very good. We all ordered something different so we could taste each other's meal and none of us were disappointed! The beer was great and the service was good. No one spoke English when we were there but we got by just fine. I would definitely go again!

We ate here as a large group and were not disappointed - there is an excellent selection of different food and even though it is a fish restaurant, there are meat and non-meat options and some Bavarian specialities. Portions are of a good size and there is an extensive wine menu. Ask to see the schnapps collection - the bottles are enormous!

Dined here one night during stay at the Neuer Am See Hotel. Excellent service, diverse menu (some good fish options), tasty food. Nothing not to like.

We stopped here for lunch after visiting Herrenchiemsee, found the staff very helpful and welcoming. Had one of the best apple strudel's of our trip. Would definitely like more time to spend here and eat a bigger meal, all looked very good and appetizing, the weather broke whilst we were here, staff clearing tables and moving us into the dry.Wet, wet, wet but not disappointed.

Thanks to a beautiful weather, we could have lunch on the big terrasse. The personnel was very efficient and friendly. The salads we have ordered were very fresh although some little bit more could have been served. Dessert was also great. A nice choice then

Delightful meal of fish and potatoes, relaxing setting overlooking the Chiemsee, a flavorful and refreshing beer brewed right there on the island, outstanding service--my expectations were met and exceeded. A friend had recommended this spot as an absolute must; I enjoyed the experience so much that I returned a few weeks later with my friend and one of our students. We were all pleased, from the nice selection of beers and wine to main course options and dessert. A charming setting and attentive server helped to make the experience outstanding!

We arrived to this restaurant by mistake. We used Trip Advisor guidance to Chimsee Island and it took us to Breitbrunn. There is a ferry there but it does not go to Chiemsee Island. We went into Oberleitner looking for a beer and stayed there for late lunch that was surprisingly good. This is a small modest German Bavarian Traditional restaurant with an Hungarian touch. The food is delicious and service friendly and efficient. We had pumpkin cream soup, surf & turf (steak & shrimps) all were excellent & tasty. The lakeview outside is magnificent. The restaurant has a balcony which is useful in sunny warm days.If you are in the area, don't miss.

This hotel and restaurant is in a lovely location right beside the Chiemsee and offers wonderful views over the Alps. The hotel itself look stunning from the outside and is well looked after and well decorated inside. We were there for a birthday party on the 4th of July and the temperature outside was in the high 30s.The party started with a sparkling wine (Sekt) reception and then we were seated. The menu has a very wide choice but to be honest I am not surprised that they do not publish the menu on their website. If they did I am pretty sure they may lose custom, due to the prices.I had a dish of pork with fried potatoes and mushrooms se4rved in a small wheelbarrow for some strange reason. Obviously a plate came with this wheelbarrow so the dish had to be emptied on to the plate. It turned out that there were 3 small pieces of pork filet and some pretty greasy potatoes. I also managed to count 4 quarters of a small mushroom. This dish was priced at nearly 15 Euros.I followed this with a Nussknacker. This is basically 3 balls of ice cream with some nuts and cream. Nothing too special and availably in any ice cream parlour, but much cheaper as this dish cost an amazing 8.90 Euros. Personally I think this daylight robbery. The lady who sat next to me had ordered a Skewer of Prawns with salad. This looked really good but then I remember exactly where I had seen these skewers. I had bought exactly the same skewered prawns in Lidl and the restaurant added about 12 euros to the cost for just warming them up.I do have to say that my wife was very pleased with her piece of locally caught fish though, and she told me that it was lovely and thought it was reasonably priced. The service at the hotel / restaurant was perfect and the staff were very attentive and good humoured. On the whole it was a very good and well hosted party but the food was nothing to shout about and the pricesâ¦well all I can say is that I am glad I was not paying.Would I go backâ¦..no sorryâ¦just too expensive for a fairly average meal.

If you are up for normal food in normal quality for a reasonable price, this is the place to go. Nothing fancy, some convenient food but ok. Menu a bit boaring. But imagine you have been hiking all day long and you are starving. Then this place is just fine.Service in general attentive.
