Greetsiel is a small tourist oriented town on the North Sea in Germany. Friends and I visited on a Sunday in April. We had lunch at this fantastic restaurant. Of course we tried the local specialties which included a seafood sampler with grilled local shrimp, dosch, and herring. The plate included boiled potatoes, salad, and fresh vegetables. It was very tasty with a Hefen Weisen beer. For my friends and myself this was a perfect meal. Service was excellent which made the meal even more impressive.

Memorable meal. Everything was so tasty. We didn't speak German and the waitress did not speak much English, so we did some pointing & gesturing. We so enjoyed this lunch in Greetsiel and if we ever returned, we would eat here again for sure.

We had dinner sitting outside in the courtyard next to the beautiful old building of the Hohes Haus. Outside is very niche, inside must be great as well. Service was top! Food very good, a little bit expensive but probably worth the money. We would go back and recommend everybody visiting Greetsiel to go there.

We spent a weekend in Greetsiel, where we had a late dinner in Witthus. We arrived around 20.30 without a reservation, where the rush hour was gone, but still almost all tables were in use.Everything that was served was made fresh, very nicely made up, and very tasty. My husband had the rumpsteak with Greetsiel Krabben (little tasty shrimps), which was excellent, I had the Wellen und Wogen (freshly made mattjes - a choice of different souced herring ) which was a pleasure for both eye and tongue. Both dishes came with the best german fries (home fries) we ate in a lot of years. They offer a fair range of wines, and a good choice of beers (open, not bottles), which made us happy.I would recommend this place to everybody looking for a good meal and a perfect service in a peaceful atmosphere. It is very neat to sit in one of the popular restaurants near the harbour, but if you don't fancy sitting in the open all time, this is the place you need to be for better food.

We had a wonderful meal here. We had taken the precaution of taking a photo of the menu before our visit so that we could translate some of it before we went for our meal. The food was lovely and full of flavour and though there was little english spoken and we speak no German (to our shame) we were able to manage very well. Well worth a visit if you ever visit this lovely little harbour.

nice outdoor seating, tables overlooking the little canal and street, good choice of food and drinks, but sadly their kitchen already closes at 20.30, which is early in the summer season.
