We came across the Einkehr on the way to Bastei. After three weeks of German cooking we were expecting standard fare and being hungry and in a remote area we did not expect much. We were very surprised by a small but wonderful selection ( Crepe with Mushrooms or the Fisk is highly recommended). The service was superior and very friendly. It was a jewel in a beautiful area of Sachisischen Schweiz, and very "price wertig" ( price worthy) as they say!!

We were there two times after our hiking trips. Home atmosphere, friendly service and delicious German homemade food - this is Das Steingut. And you should definitely try their homemade warm apple juice with calvados.

We had a coffee before cycling then lunch after tackling the fortress at this place. The staff at both times were pleasant and friendly even offering us blankets in weather we thought was acceptable! The coffee is made on an espresso machine rather than squeezed from a capsule. Our lunch was light and tasty - I had a toasted sandwich and salad which was just perfect. Sit inside if you want something cozy or outside to watch the passing parade. Recommended.

This is a quirky and comfortable restaurant on the bank of the river just outside Krippen. We arrived at spargel zeit, asparagus time! We were treated to delicious plates of food, I enjoyed the salmon. The staff were not phased by my gluten free requirements. We finished the meal with caramelised asparagus, surprisingly good!A popular restaurant, so arrive early or book!

After a hike up this rock, you are happy to see this restaurant. It offers a good variety of food and most importantly cold beverages! The location is idyllic. This type of destination restaurant is such a wonderful concept. The staff has to hike up and down every day. They have a freight "elevator" to bring up supplies. There are plenty seats in the shade and some in the sun so take your pick. Tip: For 25 c you can buy a detailed map of the Pfaffenstein inside that shows all the trails up and down and on top of the rock.

Very much recommended for the food, swift and friendly service, atmosphere and choice. My companion had a mixed grill and chips - I had to help with it, as it was absolutely massive - I had a Hawaii toast which was very good ham, and plenty of pineapple. There was plenty of choice and obviously this is also popular with locals. Very good value, as the 2 meals, a beer and water came to â¬21.76.

Had dinner at the restaurant twice during our stay in Bad Schandau. The views towards the river Elbe are beautiful and watching the ships go by was very relaxing. The service was very good, attentive but not intrusive. The quality of the food was amazing, we were there during the " "Spargelzeit" (asparagus season) and enjoyed the freshly prepared food very much.It is a bit more pricey than some other places in town, but for a special treat it is well worth it.

That is not to say that the food is not good. On the contrary. It is all what the Germans call Bio or organic food. It is well prepared and the servings are abundant. But you must hike up what seems like and endless array of stairs to the top of the Pabststein table mountain to earn the right to enjoy that food and the incredible views. Recommendation: Make reservations on the upper patio for about 30 minutes before sunset. The treck down is illuminated but be careful in the dark on the stairs.

My wife and I had dinner there. I had the Bohemian Schweize mushroom (pfefferlinge) with cream with knödel (dumpling). Mine was very tasty and filling. She had the trout with butter and lemon which she said was delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive as they could be, as it was busy. Happily recommend. Only criticism is that she thought that the side salad dressing was a bit of a let down. I thought it was fine.
