This is a place we come to often whenever we visit Munich as our offices are located close by. We once went in summer and lunched outside by the stream under the trees, absolutely lovely setting. As it's winter now, we had our lunch in the dining room, which is also elegantly furnished. There were 2 of us dining.Service was decent, there were 2 good looking girls who served us, always smiling and always ready to please. With a full dining room, 2 servers were not enough, but we weren't in a hurry, so we enjoyed our weizenbiers and the leisurely service. For starters we had a salad with baked goats cheese, and a duck carpaccio. The goats cheese salad was lovely. The duck was too raw for me. I know it's a carpaccio and is normally served raw, but what works with beef does not work with duck. Duck is nice when rare, not raw. Nevertheless, it was well presented. For mains we both had lamb chops served with polenta croquettes and veggies bathed in a red wine jus. They were delightful. Served rare, delicately seasoned and very tender. No desserts, but we enjoyed a couple of grappas and espressos. This place only accepts cash or German debit/credit cards. They do not accept anything else. So one of us had to leave and find an ATM in order to get cash to pay for the meal, as we did not have German cards. They really should change this as the place is not cheap. Starters were between 10-12 Euros each and the lamb was 28 Euros per plate. Our meal costed 105 Euros in total and I doubt many people carry that amount of cash on them.Nevertheless, we like this place and we'll be back.

This small little restaurant looks like a shack from the outside. When you enter you feel like you are transported to a small hut somewhere in the mountains. There was a lot of detail given to the decorations and seating to make you feel comfortable and to transport you to the mountains. Outside there is seating directly on the river. The food was excellent, especially the Kaiserschmarn. This is a great place to celebrate a birthday with a group of 15-20 friends. Good service and simply a wonderful evening.

After a delayed flight into Munich and delayed arrival at our hotel, we were pleased to hear we could have dinner until 10 p.m. We ordered sausages which were delicious and roast pork which was also good. The portions were huge (the waitress thought we would be hungry after our travels!). The best thing about the Braustuberl was the kind waitress. She was really lovely to our grandson and even got him an ice-cream after the kitchen had closed.

Starnberg is a lovely place, however like much of the world, menus in eating places are becoming all the same â same food that is quick and cheap to buy, prepare and deliver to the table. Often classed as âtrendyâ.Walking around the centre of Starnberg, we ofund this problem. Fortunately a local had told us about the Wirtshaus, and it was just what we were looking for. Real German food, that is made on the premises, the way it always has been. No rush to prepare, made the proper traditional way. Excellent! You can eat inside in traditional surroundings, or out on the terrace overlooking a traditional square with a Lederhosen and Durndl retailer in a beautiful traditional atritically decorate building next door. Very Bavaria!Recommend!

Atmosphere was nice and the menu promising with few dishes. 2 courses however took only 45 minutes and were IMHO conveniance food with flat taste and texture. Service was ok. Not overly friendly ir motivated but acceptable for average pricing. The environment seems to offer little alternatives.

went there today from Munich by bike stopping for lunch. First time visit, friendly service, good food, I had the salad with the nuts and goats cheese, my wife the chicken with salad. both dishes were very good, reasonably priced. Their lager is not so good, but they have good WeiÃbier. Really traditional place, with small beer garden and nice interior. Will definitely go there again.

This is a big outfit for German beer garden standards. A free playground on the right as you enter then an indoor restaurant serving Bavarian food and the huge plus an unlimited bouncing castles and trampolines with mini golf for only 5euro per kid.Bring your own food or buy there but only rule is buy drinks there. Parking is ok unless a major festival weekend then you jostle with locals to get into season parking!!! Fantastic venue for kids and happy parents!!
