When we entered, we asked for a table inside and were shown a table right next to entrance with lots of people traffic. The waiter didnt even ask if it was ok and left without looking at us. We left right away, naturally.

Authentic German Brauhaus with homemade bier and delicious dishes. The place was very crowded, but still the waitresses were very friendly. Our food was ready in a very short period of time. What to eat:Schweinshaxe, Rumpsteak, Himmel un ÃdWhen in Bonn, don't miss it.

This is a family run bar/restaurant, where as the name suggests, asparagus is the house speciality, given that it grows in the fields around this village. The traditonsgericht, with a pound of the said veg, ham of your choice (cooked or raw), melted butter and hollandaise sauce, potatoes and even a small pancake, are all served rapidly and with a smile. You do niot need a starter unless you have walked or biked here from Bonn, and dessert is also superfluous. Just a nice glass or 2 of wine (or a glass of beer, if you prefer) The Mornay version (baked with hollandaise and cheese) is also delicious and filling. A place to come back to.

The local cuisine was amazingly delicious, good size portions. Daily specials are offered and a full bar on the premises.

The restaurant is located in the countryside of Bornheim and is part of the golf course Roemerhof of Bornheim. There are a lot of parking places in front of the building. Itâs a pleasure to sit outside and enjoy the sun and the green vegetation around it. The menu is not big but tries to cover all tastes. The aperitif, an Aperol-Spritz, was a little feeble on the alcohol side. I had a rib-eye with Barolo Sauce and dumplings. The meat was tender but the savor was a little strange. The sauce was sparse and the taste was a little week. The dumplings were a little too dry. The service is nice.

I came here for dinner on a Tuesday evening. The door under the "Restaurant" sign was locked (10 minutes to 7pm), so I killed some time walking around, assuming they opened at 7. A few minutes past 7 I returned but the door was still locked! I went down to the hotel door (a few meters away) to ask if the restaurant would be open for dinner and found that the hotel door leads right to the restaurant! I'm sure the surrounding sings probably explain this, but my rudimentary German is "nicht so gut"! So my first tip is to enter via what seems like the hotel entrance. Once inside, it is a very cozy establishment with seats at the bar or in a variety of open and secluded areas. The menu is very comprehensive and looked to have a good variety of meat and veggie dishes. I had the jagerschnitzel and it was excellent! It came with a large portion of pomme frites (French fries) and a fresh garden salad with a dill dressing. I also had a bottle of water and a heffeweisen beer -- all for under â¬16! I only wish I had room for dessert but the portions were very generous. The town is pretty quiet but the restaurant had steady business. There is also a grocery store across the street for other items you may need. It is within walking distance from the Domane Walberberg hotel (about a 12 minute walk).

We celebrated my mom's 70th birthday at this restaurant. It was wonderful and welcoming. We were treated like royalty! The buffet never ran out of food, and we were even able to take home the leftovers and have lunches and dinners for two more days! If in Rheidt, just stop at Alte Post and have a bite. You will never leave again! Good that they also have hotel service on hand ;-)

Ended up by chance in Merten and indeed in Restaurant Zagreb, our luck! Everything about this eatery is first class, the service is excellent, food albeit slightly too salty is supreme, decor and ambiance perfect and prices brilliant value for money. Worth a side-trip from Cologne or Bonn.

The restaurant is located in an old building in the centre of one of the villages that forms Bornheim. The bosses, a young couple, are nice and the dishes are yummy. I found a little bit expensive though. I had âRheinischer Sauerbratenâ which was very delicious. My friend had a steak which was delicious too.
