Brenner Brau offers great local fare with wonderful beer served in a great atmosphere. The waitresses are very efficient and dressed in local costume and service was wonderful. When I visited there, on a Friday there was an Oompah Band in the Beer Garden and traditional dancing on stage.A great evening and I will definitely return. It is handily located if staying in the adjacent Alpenhotel. The views from the beer garden are wonderful - in the distance you can see all the way up to Kehlstein - The Eagles Nest.

The traditional Gasthof Neuhaus in Berchtesgaden has been given a new lease on life by the Hettegger family. Enjoy both the excellent food and the historical atmosphere. The Neuhaus Inn on the market square in Berchtesgaden is the right choice for all who

What a wonderful find, Authentic German. Eating place very much like we first encountered on our first ever visit 22 years ago. We hiked this way before but never stopped to eat, so today after walking for 2 hrs and with the weather rapidly changing we stopped off for a couple of hours, we didn't feel rushed, OH had the schnitzel I opted for warm apple cake, both fabulous, the other meals looked just as good, we got by with our little understanding of German. The waiter or Host was so friendly and efficient we even had complimentary glass of shnapps, The views are spectacular, sadly we had low cloud, you can drive to it but the road does not go directly, we opted for a gentle 6 mile walk through the woods, it's well sign posted and flat go 90% of the trail, the6 mile hike back to the car was made all the easier even if it was raining. Give this place a try you will not be disappointed

One of Berchtesgaden's culinary and visual highlights - the Panorama Restaurant - is located on the sixth floor of the EDELWEISS. Here, you can enjoy the combination of haute cuisine and unique atmosphere while admiring the spectacular view of the Watzman
Se were out on the terrace on a magnificent day. Staff was very friendly (not the norm in Salzburg), they actually smiled and joked. Solid food as well. The Sausage Plate was OK. The Spinach Knoedlen were very tasty, and the beer perfect.Hi Mr. "GeorgeFMarkhamON", Thank you very much for your feedback. We are happy about the positive one, but we are not located in Salzburg - but in BERCHTESGADEN (Hotel EDELWEISS). Also the pictures you posted are not from our Restaurant. Would you please be so kind and delete your post? We would be very happy to welcome you some day in Berchtesgaden - I am sure this feedback will be as positive as this one :) Best wishes, Katharina

Beautiful small restaurant in Berchtesgaden. There was one server who spoke English, and he was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was inexpensive and delicious; I had chicken curry, and my husband and son had noodles with bolognese sauce. The noodles were homemade, the food was nicely plated, and the portions were generous. There was a nice patio to eat on, and before we left, our English-speaking server offered us a complimentary serving of schnapps. Best place we've eaten in Berchtesgaden!

We ate an evening meal here on a beautiful hot and clear evening. The outside space is comfortable, the food is excellent and the view of the mountains is breathtaking.

We had a very nice dinner in this relatively new restaurant with a traditional atmosphere. The personnel is very friendly, including the cook! Dishes are based on local ingredients and on Austrian cousine but with a modern, original touch. Highly recommended.

There is parking outside Berggasthof Oberkalberstein, don't be deterred from driving by the reviews that say the road is too difficult to negotiate; winding your way up the road slowly is quite manageable. We sat outside as the main attraction of this restaurant is the views! I chose the breaded fish and potatoes served with a tartare style sauce, which was very tasty. I thought the potatoes might be too heavy but they were just right. My co-eater had the (very hearty!) three loins of venison in gravy, with cranberries, potato dumplings and red cabbage. The service was friendly but slow (although the view was a good distraction!) We had to attract the attention of a waitress and ask for a dessert menu and then had another wait to place our dessert order and then a further wait when we wanted to settle the bill - it was getting chilly outside by this time so make sure you take a jacket!! The bill itself was very reasonable at only â¬40 for two courses and drinks for two.The view may be the restaurant's main draw, but the enormous "man vs food" sized desserts come a very close second! I had the mixed ice cream - four generous scoops of fruit, chocolate, stracciatella and vanilla - it was delicious! My co-eater had the Windbeutel (cream puff) which was the biggest dessert I've ever seen! Not far off the size of a dinner plate!! The highlight of my evening was seeing the waitress's face when she carried the Windbeutel out; her expression was a mixture of apology and sympathy! All the other diners looked round to see which poor soul was about to develop type 2 diabetes!! :-)
