Wir waren zur Kaffee zeit daNiemand da ausser die Kellnerin. Die Aussicht wächst zu. Der Kaffee kam schnell aber es war ja auch ausser uns niemand da.

After visiting Toskana Therme, we stopped by this gem for a late lunch / early dinner. The food was scrumptious and the outdoor seating was lovely. The staff is charming and really do bend over backwards. I can still taste the mouth-watering "authentic" Käsespätzle (cheese Spätzle), the only spätzle I've ever liked.A must visit. We ate here twice. One a buffet where everything was very good. The staff the first time spoke okay English. The second time we used the menu which they do not have in English and the waitress spoke little to no English. We took a guess on the menu, which was very large, but we got two excellent meals. The wife got the goulash, and I had the veal snetzel. Worth going back. Love the old time "cellar" feeling of the building which is part of the Old Town Hall.

This year we have been to late with our booking and couldn't stay in the Gasthof Bad Sulza. It's a beautiful place on the main road and center of the city. They are serving very good food and local wines. Nice rooms, rustic restaurant and beer garden and a friendly staff all time. The gasthaus is in walking distance to the Toscana Therme!

The entree was actually called Knusprige Grillhaxe serviert im Schweinetrog, a crispy pork knuckle served in a pig trough. It was clearly intended for those with large appetites, and I had difficulty finishing it. But I'll never forget it and will encourage German restaurants in the U.S. (of which there are increasingly fewer) to imitate it. The setting above the stream is lovely and the facade presents a beautiful picture for camera buffs. A great place to visit when in the area.

Wir waren als GroÃfamilie hier um einen kleinen Lunch bzw. Kaffee zu trinken und Kuchen zu essen. Wir sind von Bad Sulza nach Auerstedt gelaufen und waren froh im Schloss angekommen zu sein. Eine schöne Tafel (16 Personen) war gerichtet inkl. kleines Aufmerksamkeit für das Geburtstagskind. Der Tee ist fantastisch, der Kaffee und die heiÃe Schokolade lecker. Zur Auswahl gab es drei Kuchen die lecker waren. AuÃerdem wurden Suppen gegessen. Linsencremesuppe und Pastinakensuppe waren ein Gedicht. Der Service war nett.
