It was a lovely dinner I will definitely going back there again soon. It also has some really good wine.

The town has a solid selection of bars, restaurants & quirky shops. However for a non German speaking tourist I would recommend taking a translation book to make your visit more simpler, as the town is not as cosmopolitan as some major European towns/city's. Defiantly recommend a visit.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, der Service hervorragend.. Das Restaurant liegt zwar etwas versteckt in einer SeitenstraÃe, aber der Weg lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!

The food was great, just as expected. Good quality and cooked well. The staff were able to speak to us in English which is a nice bonus. Only problem we had was the service. We were not in a rush but we waited about half hour for drinks and then at the end of our meal the staff disappeared.

This restaurant is close to where we stayed (The Mercure, Bad Oeynhausen) so we walked there on the recommendation of the hotel receptionist. I ate there twice, both times the food was outstanding. The decor is slightly witchy (Hexenhaus means witches house) but not overly so. There is a small bar and room for maybe 8 tables seating 2 - 6 so worth making a reservation during busy times or a for 6 or more people. There is an English menu available. There is an outdoor seating are available but I wouldn't use it in the winter. The portions are generous, we tried:AppetizersFrench Onion soup - excellentGoulash soup - very goodCreamed Herring with fried potatoes - excellentEntreesCardinals meal - very good, very, very rich (pork steak covered with Camembert) Hexewald (?) - Pork steak with a wonderful red sauce and friesand several other courses of of which got high marks from those eating them.We liked this so much we went back several times.

On the main street but outside the pedestrian zone, still has some tables outside. In a friendly, family-like atmosphere you can try some local specialities - I went for fried Pfifferlingen (chanterelles) with onion and potatoes and a rump-steak, all delicious. Try schorle - white or red wine spritzer, excellent in summer.

We tried the buffet formula and were not disappointed as with most buffets. The formula is surprising and makes you think you designed your own menu, but in reality an excellent chef has designed the tastes. Very friendly staff and excellent service.

Small place but really worth a visit. Good service & fantastic sausages. No seating, but fits about 10-12 people standing. Recommended!
