Surrounded by trees this little restaurant serves delicious local food at reasonable prices.Service is good, although high demand at peak points might make it slow, but not quite to hurt my evaluation by a one point demotion. I had a chicken soup that was just perfect for a chilly night, followed by a house salad that was amazing, and a schnitzel that has to be one of the best I have ever had. Beers were outstanding and no room for desert. The place seems to be loved by locals, and it was packed on a Tuesday night with people from all ages, including families. Lunch seems to work quite well too. I would go back anytime, shame it is thousands of miles from home...

I have been to the Annaturm several times at different seasons. This was the first time after years I've been up there and this spontaneously in the fresh snow. :)We drove up through the snow to get to the car park called "Nienstedter Pass". There we got welcomed with 20cm fresh snow. Incredible. We weren't sure if we'd make it in time to get up to the Annaturm restaurant (which closes at 5pm), but we gave it a try. It was already dawn when we left the car park and dark when we got to the restaurant. My mom gave it a go (it was just after 5pm) and checked whether the restaurant has opened. The owner was still happy to deliver hot chocolate whereas the delivery staff was a bit grumbling. I wasn't sure if we better leave, but as the owner offered us a cake too, I was convinced that we are welcomed to stay, so we stayed. It was lovely warm and great to take in a hot chocolate and something to eat (the cake was delicious) before heading 3km back through the cold and the snow to get to our car. The walk was beautiful as the snow reflected and the moon shone through the dark forest and lit up the snow and the path we walked on. We were definitely the last people who walked down hill and left the car park :D It was so peaceful. I'm happy to have experienced such a hike and thankful to the staff and owner to have a hot cuppa and a cake. The little restaurant changed over the last few years I haven't been there since. The interior got bigger, so more tables and benches to dine in. Even the "pub garden" outside got bigger. Somehow they have chopped off trees to extend the outside sitting area. I was a bit sad to see those trees leave. But things changes... - Anyway, the tower was closed to that time. Sure it was dark and not much to see anyway. However, if there is a chance to go upstairs while you are there, it will be with no charge and if the weather is good as well as the sight, you might be able the see the Harz mountain range and a famous mountain called "Brocken" as well as Hannover.Happy travels :)

THe hotel's restaurant is quite good. Service is good and they have menus in english which is a nice touch. The ingredients and taste are there and every meal that we had there were very good. Classic German food well preparedThe portions....Wahoo they are huge! Be careful the 500g duck realy is a portion of 500g of duck and everything is along the same line.

While staying with friends on holiday they took us for a meal. Lovely choice of food, served quickly. They also had amazing cakes!!the views over the valley and countryside were stunning. A play area is provided and they seem children friendly. they have some goats as well in a pen. Plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoors. They were very busy but we were looked after really well.

I visited the Monopol on a recent business trip with a large group for dinner. I found the location very scenic with a outdoor dining balcony on those good weather evenings. The contemporary decor was very nice as well. Although enjoyable, I did find the food a little disappointing. My salad, unlike the guest next to me, was mostly onions and the portion of my entree was much smaller then an adjacent guest. Quality control seemed lacking. The food was adequate, but nothing particularly special in terms of flavor. I did notice some outstanding looking desserts, although I did not try any.As an option in Hameln, I would go back, but only because the choices in this quaint little village are limited.
