The Berghaus Sonnenfels - at 1,150 m. The restaurant is located in the middle of the Great Arber, a large terrace for sunbathing in summer and winter, a large forest playground. Rest area on beautiful hiking tours. Local cuisine. In the winter, in the mid
Every waiter should go there and see how theses people work. I tzhink it is badly organized but what their staff can deliver is amazing. Very good atmosphere, best spätzle we had in almost a week.

The expected Bavarian menu is complemented with good local brews. Table sharing encourages you to talk to the locals on the very nice Theresienplatz. Good service, good meals.

Insgesamt also eine klare Empfehlung.

We had an excellent business/friends dinner. Starters were great and equally matched by main dishes. Host was most gracious, recommended a perfect German red wine, that surprised us all. If youâre in the region, it is highly recommended to pay a visit.

We were recommended this restaurant by the owners of the place we are staying in, and so we decided to give it a go. Reservations are recommended, especially as you can only really get there by car, and it would be a long way to go from most places on the off chance. But the online reservation system worked fine and was very simple. The food was really good quality, fresh and tasty. We had a starter of ravioli with oxtail and herbs, which was both unusual and excellent. Then one of us had pike and the other spinach risotto. Both, as with the ravioli, were cooked perfectly, flavoured just right, and a good quantity, and beautifully presented. It's a long time since we've had such good food, and the service was pleasant and the atmosphere good, so if you are anywhere near, we'd recommend it highly. They have a website, so you can check out the menu before hand. The choice is not huge, so it's worth making sure they'd have something you'd like, but if they do, you will like it a lot!

Spotlessly clean hotel/restaurant which caters for large and small functions. The proximity to the local cemetry means that it is particulary handy for funeral catering. The decor is a well balanced mix of modern and traditional and the layout provides opportunity for intimate as well as social dining. A long well stocked bar with lots of comfortable bar stools provides an ideal setting for those preferring to have a drink.Staff were friendly and efficient and food served was of good quality. The meat is sourced from the owners butchers which is why meat features prominently on the menu.Located near the train station and alternative transport links, means that the restaurant is easily accesable plus a walk to the centre of town is possible. My friend and I had a lovely lunch here and I would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant to others.

This is a really cool place to eat, very cosy inside in winter and an excellent outside area in summer. Very friendly staff and very good Bavarian fayre available. Their burgers are really good too.

First of all I would like to explain that I am from The Netherlands, which means that English is not my native language. In advance I would like to apologies for any language and spelling errors in my review. I choose to write my reviews in English so many people can read or translate them to their own language. This place is located on a hill, 3 car minutes from the center of Bodenmais, with a very nice view over Bodenmais. In front of the terrace you will find many different walking trails into the mountains. The food is simple, fresh but above all very tasteful. Because of the type of reviews on Trip advisor we were afraid to visit a large restaurant but we were very happy that we end up in a small local place. On some days there is live music. On the menu there all also different type of vegetarian dishes like the Pilzpfanne (mushrooms, different vegetables and cooked and than baked knudels). I am a meat eater but I can recommend the Pilzpfanne. Great looks, taste and bite!We paid for a Holzschweinesteak with vegetables and baked potatoes, one Pilzpfanne, 0,5 liter Appellimo and 0,5 liter beer only ⬠28,90 (without the tip we gave our waiter off course).

Not that the Osl needs any more positive reviews - by now "word of mouth" is sufficient - but I was so impressed with the quality and taste of what I got served that I had say a few words. The meat is mostly raised by the family themselves on their free-range farm and you can taste the difference. Add to that the skill of the chef and you're in for a treat. Make sure you book well in advance! One-day-ahead booking will not be sufficient under normal circumstances.
