We stopped here for relaxing day at the lake Fedaia during our holiday in Dolomites. This restaurant is above the cable car station. But it is worth to walk those 100 metres.. Either you can enjoy the view of Lago Fedaia from terrace or you can eat inside. The interior makes you feel comfortable and like at home. Wide choice of local meals and many of them are less than 10 Euro! We tried soup, pasta, polenta and funghi, pannacota and tiramisu. Everything was delicious. For sure the best food we had arround Canazei. Highly recommended!

Chalet Gerard was recommended to us by the hotel Laurin where we stay in Selva and we understand why they recommend this place. Chalet Gerard is elegantly designed, feels fresh and welcoming. Very nice location, better in good weather. We had a nice corner table for five and were tempted by the varied menu. I had a summer flavour Datterino tomato soup with a super light tasty crisp. For mains I enjoyed the Iberian pork belly. My wifeâs lamb chops were probably even better. We could not have desserts, we thought, but ended up with delicious brownie with vanilla ice++, fruits of the forrest, cake basket with raspberries. Delicious food, presented very delicately and in a professional and friendly way. Very well done! Highly recommendable! Service and care is well understood here. We arrived in heavy rain by car. The hotel van just arrived home and went into the garage. Then came out again and over to us and invited us to follow into the private garage to park due to the bad rain. Very impressive thinking and service attitude. Easy to come back to!

It can get quite busy at times, but definitely worth it, the food is good and the prices are very very OK. Especially the chicken is definitely worth having.

We deliberately chose a walk in the direction of this little mountain restaurant when we were staying in Selva - and we weren't disappointed. It is tiny, very traditional and the food is simple but great. It is clearly family run - we were served by the owners' daughter and even offered some free fresh-baked pastries to try as we were leaving. Only advice is to walk downhill rather than up when you leave!

No one coming here could do less than rave about the views, but last year the food was completely forgettable. It seems now that they have gotten themselves a chef and the results are quite satisfactory. You may not come here specifically to eat but now if you do you have no reason to be disappointed, if you like the food of this general area, that is...

A hearty lunch, as a prize, after a good 2 and half hour walk up. Shared a good plate of pasta and as a second polenta with salsiccia. Everything well cooked and the scene, as expected, cannot get better.

We were very positively surprised by the very high quality of the food at this Malga. We arrived when the bread had just been taken out of the wood oven and it was delicious, made of several different flours and crunchy..Yum! The mezzelune filled with nettles were to die for. The egg, speck, and potatoes did not disappoint, and even the salads were very ninfe with fresh ingredients, nicely presented , and tasty. The desserts were excellent: we had kaiser smarren, yogurt With fresh rasperries, and ricotta with fresh raspberries. Most of the ingredients come from the Malga, where you can see the many cows, goats,and other animals. They also grow some vegetables. We also bought some cheese, speck, and jams, which are all delicious. The staff was friendly. The best place to eat near the Val di Fassa and I consider myself a demanding foodie, being Italian and really enjoying good food. We will return to this wonderful place. Thank you!

We had the sliced grilled meat with a bunch of meat and not too many vegetables (a small handful of fried potatoes). The meat was beautifully prepared, but needed a bit seasoning. Also, we had a local redwine recommended by the friendly waiter, which was very nice.

We have been to Canazei several times but never felt hungry enough to eat the takeaway in the early afternoon. But this day it was snowing, it was Saturday and the last day of the holiday so....It's a sausage/burger with sauce/gherkin,sauerkraut all in a roll job. Add chips (pommes frites style) add more ketchup and there we are - refuelled, warmed up, ready to go, plus its a cheerful and honest service. Try it.
