The food is very good and you can book cooking courses if you wish. I have only given it 4 stars, as I believe you still cannot pay by credit card, for a restaurant that wants to play at that pricing level in Aalen, that is impossible, especially if you are a larger group where one person picks up the bill. We "foreigners" do not have a EC-Karte.

This new place in Aalen offers a great alternative to dine outside during the summer months.Meat is the thing here and the options are varied, as well as the side orders.

Pub, inn, gasthaus; who knows. I can second the other reviewers' recommendations for the Bierhalle. Multiple local biers on tap, plus a variety of "craft" biers that the local brewery is producing (IPA, tripple, etc.). A short menu, focusing on Schwabian specialties was available at lunch at reasonable prices (e.g., maultachen, linsen mit spaetzle and wurst, kasespaetzle, etc.). The decor shows some real thought was given to decorating - not trendy, but updated - older photos and certificates on one side of the dining area and older tin signs from local breweries on the other side. The serve was very pleasant. I enjoyed my bier and kasespaetzle at the Bierhalle..

If you are really hungry - this is the place for you! We were a big company of 15 persons and everyone was satisfied with their choice of meal. I had a sallad with grilled beef, it as really good and the meat was perfectly prepared. Big portions though, it was a lot of food gooing to waste when they cleaned the table. I did not pay the bill so I can not say anything about the prices but I think it was average.

Still one of the best places in Aalen to go if you want some nice basic ( in a good way) food in the evenings. Especially for spare rips or anything else meaty, it benefits from the butchery on site.

Friendly staff in local costume were amused that I wanted home made swabian spatzle (well I had travelled a long way from England for lunch). Set in the hills you can have a lovely walk to work up an appetite or walk off the calories.

Pleasant surprise in the city center, with an attractive menu and friendly service.The weather was really hot and we couldn't have dinner inside, so I can't say much about the ambiance.I liked the food (nice salmon trout) and especially the dessert.I will go back to try more choices.

Each visit to the restaurant is now a great taste experience for us. The combination of ingredients always excites the pallet in some of the most unexpected ways. The fish dish last night was exquisite. The lamb maultaschen and asparagus combined local menus with great flavors. The service is really top class. Always impressive when the service staff great you professionally at the door, remember the table orders and deliver the correct dish to the correct person. The wine list can also be explained and recommendations for the right wine with your meal. Really a great team. Thanks again for a great evening.
