Waited 4 mins at the bar to be served. Not due to it being busy, due to staff completely ignoring meWon't be returning anytime soon â¹ï¸We are a extremely busy country pub and try to accommodate each and every customer that walks through the door. It can be beyond our control to what time and the amount of customers turn up at same time, we do endeavour to staff the pub accordingly but certain times we do get hit all at once. My staff are trained to always acknowledge customers when they arrive especially if people in front are ordering drinks and food We also serve throughout the 3 bars so people donât always realise that there are other areas also busy Thank you for your feedback

A classic country pub overlooking the village green. From our gardens you can hear the knock of leather on willow when the Longdon Green cricket team take the field, and we have a real sun-trap of a terrace which is a fine place for a spot of lunch with f
We had a 3 course lunch for 25 people here on a week day. I was concerned that a village pub restaurant might struggle to serve such numbers, but with pre-ordered menu choices the kitchen and waiting staff did an amazing job to bring out so much quality food in a timely fashion. All of the starters mains and desserts were rewarded with positive comments and empty plates. Friendly staff throughout made it a very agreeable afternoon. Thanks to everyone who served us last Friday. Highly recommended venue.

My Husband & I had wanted to visit here for a long time, after recommendations from friends.I booked here the evening before . Booking reference 29SQ2OL. We arrived and said we had booked a table for two at 18;00. The young girl at the till said no, no booking been made. I told her i had made the booking the night before via the internet, and just said No, no booking been made, i deal with the bookings in the morning and didn't see one for George. she didn't even check the system to see if we had actually booked, in case she had missed it.That should of been a sign to start with. Another young girl who was waiting on, said not to worry, we have plenty of spare seats, sit where you like. WE both decided to order the roast beef dinner. It was ordered. The pub was quiet and so therefore we did not anticipate a long wait for our food. we did not see anyone else enter after we did. Well over half an hour after ordering our food, and young chap approached us to say they had no cabbage, would we be ok with peas? He told us they had cooked a second batch, but that wasn't ready yet. ( as a chef myself i know to steam cabbage can take no more than 5 mins). We had no problem with this. 15 minutes later the food arrived, and the hottest thing about it was the peas. The roast potatoes looked like the had been put through a fryer. The mash and carrots were all cold.We got the attention of the waitress and she apologised, well actually her words were i don''t know what to say about that........ The food was returned to the kitchen to be redone. Fifteen minutes later, we were about to walk out, but the food arrived. It was tasteless. MY peas looked like a camouflage jacket, many different colours, of green.. My carrots had no taste, and the mash was not the best, the stuffing, yes stuffing with roast beef????? was fried but still powdery in the middle. The young chap came to ask if everything was ok, so i told him i was not happy with my meal. The peas were all a different colour, the carrots had no flavour, and i was not happy with he meal but i was eating it as I was ravenous. His reply was, well we have served it all day. YES exactly it tasted like it had been on the hot plate all day too! £35.54 for two roast dinner's a large glass of wine and a J20 (J2O was 2.60) We were not offered any reduction or even a dessert as an apology. Why don't management take heed of comments and react? The pub is lovely in a great area, but could be so much more with great food. Get a better chef/kitchen team! Left feeling hungry and got a ready meal on my way home, which took less time to cook! Toby Cavery is better Value for Money!

Temporarily Closed due to Major Renovation will reopen in February 2018
Have eaten here previously and was always good. Last night (Fri 25/10/19) 4 of us met there. Two ordered the roast cod. when meal arrived, broccoli was under cooked and virtually inedible. Staff apologised and said would bring out more, but it never arrived. Manageress offered us free drinks to compensate, but actually only reduced bill by £5.i had beer battered haddock. Fish was good, but chips had obviously stood and been re-heated. Mushy peas would have fitted in a small egg cup. Never going there again
