Sunday roast celebration for 5 people. Based on Trip Advisor's excellent reviews this was hugely disappointing. Limited starter menu, dreadful selection of 5 deserts and an average roast. Yorkshire puddings were average and small - just as well had ordered extras. Advertise 'unlimited gravy' but bring in tiny jugs - when asked if could simply bring a large jug for the table I was advised they don't have any large jugs! Felt sorry for the waitress who was running around with jugs of gravy as a result. Best Sunday Roast in Surrey? - not a chance. Meant to be family lunch but turned out be a nightmare.Burgers from barbecue which were not cooked enough hence stomach up set.Waited 50 minutes for a bowl of chips and two kids meals which was basicfish and chips and kept asking eventually told the lost the order so cancelled the kids meals and wold think twice about recommending them.Dear hermineb725Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We had not visited The Grumpy Mole for a few years as had had a couple of disappointing meals. However, thought we would give it a chance and were very pleasantly surprised!Excellent service from our waitress and a very good menu.Both our meals were excellent....especially the steak and kidney pudding!!Lovely setting and easy parking. Will certainly return again.

we walked in,and there was a good buzz about the place,went upstairs spoke to the barmaid,jo jo....who was very helpfull,sorted a table out,and served us,some nice starter,tapas style,food...only negative..upstairs ..stairs to the toilet carpet worn and tatty..and a smell of cooking oil, needs air vent in stairwell....Hi PaulSorry for the delayed response and thanks for the kind words. We visited here twice for lunch over the past few weeks.The first visit i would say went without fault and we was very impressed.The second visit whilst good wasn't perfect! The food we ordered took a very long time to come out and was slightly off par in comparison to the first visit. We also found the service wasn't as sharp.Had the second visit been as good as the first then it would have 5stars!

Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening on Friday night with a couple of friends. All of our meals were good (I particularly enjoyed my burger), Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing and she was friendly. We visited for the second time and werenât disappointed. The menu was wide and varied and the waitress was friendly, professional and attentive without being over bearing. There was a good atmosphere and the pub was constantly busy but we didât feel rushed and after 3 hours we were politely asked to move to the bar, as our table was needed. We didnât mind at all and when we left at 5pm the pub was still packed. Would recommend a visit.

Fabulous choice chosen by good friends for a mid week dinner catch up. Delightful english country pub next to the cricket green with glorious sunsets from lovely outside seating area. The delicious food was swiftly delivered and was freshly cooked. All our needs were catered for by very frienndly staff .
